West Ham: Dates in place for Irving to report to Rush Green

West Ham United: Andy Irving arrival at Rush Green in place after new transfer spend

West Ham United midfielder Andy Irving now has dates in place to report to Rush Green for pre-season training.

That is according to the Edinburgh Evening News, with the publication reporting on its website on Tuesday (26 March) that the Hammers signed him on a deal worth seven figures.

The 23-year-old agreed to move to West Ham last summer when Tim Steidten joined as Technical Director, with Irving immediately loaned back to Austria Klagenfurt for the current season.

Can Andy Irving have an impact at West Ham United?

Hammers technical director Steidten had a lot on his plate upon his arrival in East London, with last summer witnessing the departure of captain and star midfielder Declan Rice.

The England international has thrived at Arsenal since his exit, but the Hammers did a fine job in securing a replacement, which was two players in this case.

Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse arrived from Ajax and Southampton respectively, and both have immediately hit the ground running.

There was, however, another midfield addition in Irving, who is currently trying to secure a European spot in Austria with Klagenfurt.

The club occupy fifth place in the Austrian Bundesliga table, with the midfielder playing a key role in their success this season.

And he will be hoping to have a similar impact upon his arrival in the Premier League, which isn’t too far away.

The Hammers are also pushing for the European spots, while David Moyes’s side are into the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
