James Madison High School Reviews

As a junior in James Madison High school, my overall experience with this school has been amazing. Although I was quiet and silent during my freshman year, many teachers, counselors and classmates try to fit me in with the things that I normally do. Meeting new friends wasn’t that hard either as long as you have the same interests. But the worst part of this school is probably the bathrooms and our principal. Bathrooms are always filled with people that are supposed to be going to class. As for the principal, Ms.cohen has been the greatest principle to lead this school, its just the way how people treated her during the migrant incident because we students missed one day of school in order for migrants to live in the school. I would really like this society to change their perspectives on things, cause some small things aren’t a big deal and if you need to go to the bathroom just go and get out for other people that are needing for the bathroom they can use it.
As an international student, I am able to compare the huge difference that exists between schools in all the different aspects. I would say James Madison High School was at first, a little scary because it is a big school and has a huge population. To be honest, when I first stepped into the school, I felt overwhelmed by how many people and movements there were after the bell. However, I have to say that after studying for almost 2 years in this school, there is hardly any time when you can feel a real school spirit or culture. There is a lot of potential for it to exist, but everything is very monotonous, and maybe the fact that we do not have lockers or breaks prevents people from creating strong bonds.
I've had a great experience with Madison HS so far. The teachers are supporting and we have tutoring for most subjects that teachers have for students. There are plenty of school wide events. I would like to see college readiness being started earlier though. Like helping us decide on a track of majors
