Christian Slater didn’t have a 50th birthday party, but he did get a very special gift.
The “Mr. Robot” star couldn’t have a big bash to celebrate his milestone age because his wife, Brittany Lopez, went into labor two days before his big day. However, to his delight, he was able to take his daughter home on his actual birthday.
“She was born on August 16th. My birthday’s the 18th,” Slater said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday. “My wife was in the middle of labor and all those things, but I did get to bring my baby home on my birthday,”
Kimmel expressed what a great gift that was for the actor and he agreed.
“That was nice,” Slater said with a beaming smile.
Interesting enough, Slater revealed why he is used to having his birthday overshadowed.
“My wife’s birthday is the 14th [of August], my older daughter’s birthday is the 15th, my month-old baby is the 16th, so my birthday is passed over,” he joked.
Slater shares his newborn daughter with his wife of five years. He also has two kids, 20-year-old Jaden Christopher and 18-year-old Eliana Sophia, with his ex-wife Ryan Haddon.
Slater hasn’t revealed the infant’s name.
