Jack Yellen, who was one of the nation's most successful song lyricists with such songs as "Happy Days Are Here Again," died Wednesday at his home outside of Buffalo.

Yellen, 98, provided the words for more than 130 popular songs over four decades, including "I'll Be Seeing You," "Rain or Shine" and "Ain't She Sweet."In 1929 Yellen and the late Milton Ager combined to write "Happy Days Are Here Again," which became President Franklin Roosevelt's campaign theme song in 1932 and has been heard at most Democratic National Conventions ever since.

One of Yellen's last songs, "I'll Be Seeing You," was penned before World War II but didn't become popular until after Hildegarde, a popular nightclub performer, began singing it and Bing Crosby recorded it.
