Jack is back, baby. Jack Nicholson, the 85-year-old Hollywood legend, has been spotted for the first time in 18 months, and looking at the photos, you may not even realize it’s him!

The Academy Award winner was photographed on the balcony of his notorious Mulholland Drive spot in Los Angeles. He hasn’t been seen in public since October 2021, when he was watching the NBA ‘s Los Angeles Lakers with his 31-year-old son Ray.

Jack Nicholson’s balcony party of one

Hanging out on his balcony, he was wearing an orange t-shirt and gray sweatpants, sitting on his red balcony that has a view of the Franklin Canyon Reservoir. His hair was disheveled and he tapped on the balcony as he sat, leaning back and forth as he took in the view.

He also listened to the birds and observed a helicopter that soared past.

Nicholson has been particularly reclusive the last few years, leaving his old partying ways behind.

“His mind is gone,” a source to Radar Online in January.

“He’s made it clear his home is his castle. But people just wish he’d come out of the house and pop up to tell them how — or at least reassure folks he’s OK,” the source continued.

“Jack’s in touch with certain relatives — especially Ray, his protégé, who he’s so proud of — but his socializing days are long gone.”

“Brando died a virtual recluse after leading such a colorful life, and Jack’s friends are drawing the comparisons,” the source added. “His kids will visit, but they’re his only connection to the world.

“It’s like he doesn’t want to face reality anymore — and that’s just sad.”

Others have said that the comments of his ‘mind’ being gone or dementia are exaggerated, including Bill O’Reilly, the former news commentator and author.

‘I visited Jack Nicholson a few months ago. I had a long conversation with him and he follows the No Spin News very closely and had all kinds of intelligent questions for me,’ O’Reilly said recently.

Hopefully O’Reilly is right and Nicholson is doing better than some sources are leading people to believe.

Jack Nicholson: A Hollywood icon

Nicholson is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors to ever live, and perhaps the greatest of all time. He has won three Academy Awards, bagged three BAFTAs, and even has a Grammy.

His performances in The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Chinatown are collectively show off the magic and majesty of what he brings to film, but there’s perhaps no effort in his entire film history that is not worth watching. Seriously, dig anything up, even hidden gems such as The Last Detail will stay in your mind forever.

He’s even responsible for things you may not even realize, such as the concept of ‘The Bucket List’. It wasn’t until he said it in the trailer to the 2007 Rob Reiner film with Morgan Freeman that the phrase was a part of the cultural lexicon. So we actually say that all because of him!

His cultural legacy is staggering, and goes beyond his amazing artistry. David Thompson, film critic and author, may have put it best.

“Nicholson is the Hollywood celebrity who is almost like a character in some ongoing novel of our times. He is also the most beloved of stars—not even his huge wealth, his reckless aging, and the public disasters of his private life can detract from this … For he is still a touchstone, someone we value for the way he helps us see ourselves.”

He’s also a notorious ladies man, having fathered six children from five different women.

Anyways, watch The Last Detail! You’ll love it! I promise! Or literally any other film he’s done.

And here’s a few more of his most underrated films.
