ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2022) - Orlando City SC has signed first round MLS SuperDraft selection Jack Lynn to a one-year First Team contract, with Club options in 2023, 2024 and 2025, the Club announced today.

“We’re thrilled to get Jack signed before the start of the season and are confident that he’s a great fit for the group,” said Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi. “We were excited to get him where we did in the draft and have loved the effort and dedication that we’ve seen from him this preseason, as well as how he’s fit into the group already.”

Lynn was taken by the Lions at No. 18 overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft in what served as the side’s first pick of the draft. The St. Louis, Mo. native joins the Lions following four years at the University of Notre Dame. The forward joined City immediately for the start of the 2022 preseason, appearing in multiple matches with a goal in the team’s opening scrimmage against Minnesota United.

The 22-year-old totaled 79 appearances with 57 starts, 31 goals and eight assists across his collegiate career in South Bend. As a senior, Lynn appeared 23 times for the Fighting Irish, tallying 10 goals and four assists in a season that saw Notre Dame win an ACC Championship before making a run to the NCAA College Cup, falling in the semifinal round to eventual NCAA Champions Clemson. A three time All-ACC selection, Lynn earned a First Team nod in each of his junior and senior seasons, as well as United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors those same years.
