DECEMBER 6, 2023 — If you ever have the opportunity to speak with folk legend Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, you quickly learn how he earned the sobriquet “Ramblin’.” Ask him a question and you’ll get more than you bargained for. The answer will be in there, but it will come wrapped in vivid, colorful and ceaselessly entertaining packaging, taking the conversation far afield. And that endearing quality is also on display whenever the folk revivalist and icon – now 92 years of age – appears in front of an audience. Ramblin’ Jack Elliott comes to Moe’s Alley on December 7.
On April 29th, 2023, the Austin Film Society will be hosting Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and his daughter, Aiyana, for a screening of Aiyana’s film, The Ballad of Ramblin’ Jack (2000).
The singer and expert flatpicker is one of the last of the ’50s era folk music revivalists still on the road today.
