J. Jay Saunders (born February 7, 1941-died January 5, 2016) was an American character actor, best known for his many guest appearances on American television shows in the 1970's and 1980's, which included The Jeffersons, Dallas, NBC-TV's The A-Team, and Knight Rider and the CBS-TV series The Incredible Hulk which starred Bill Bixby. He also appeared in the films Beetejuice (1988) and House Party in 1990.

J. Jay appeared on Married... with Children in the episode "But I Didn't Shoot the Deputy" as Bronson.

Career[]

Saunders' first TV performance was a minor role in the 1970s ABC-TV series Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law. Following that he went on to have several guest appearances in TV movies and shows such as The Jeffersons, The Bionic Woman, The Love Boat, The A-Team, Knight Rider, and Dallas.

Throughout the 1980s, he scored some minor movie roles as well, including Doctor in Thief (1981), a moving man in Beetlejuice (1988), and Sidney's Dad in House Party (1990).[1]

Death[]

Saunders died in 2016 from an undisclosed illness.
