Absolutely the worst movie we've ever seen. We're pretty liberal when it comes to what the kids can watch. We don't get offended easily. This literally just sucked. Oh.. it's ALL of the things the negative reviews have said .. it's pretty dark for a muppet movie but mostly I hate it because it's lame.

Very good Muppet Christmas Film, and honestly it's almost as perfectly made as the original Jim Hension Muppet films. Based on the classic holiday tale "It's a wonderful life", it has a very uplifting and Holiday feeling. Most comical, Whoopi Goldberg plays as God. The part alone makes this movie amazing. The Muppet theatre is in trouble, a greedy female banker is planning to tear it down and make it a "Club Dot". During the "I wish I've never been born" scene is really pulls off what would have happened if Kermit didn't exist, showing Doc Hopper (From Jim's original Muppet movie) had become famous in his Frog legs business, Miss Piggy is a poor cat lady, Gonzo is homeless and Fozzie is a pick pocket. But like all Muppet films it all turns okay in the end...after an awesome fight between Piggy and the banker. I think this movie's only flaw is the whole Crocodile hunter cameo and Grinch stole Christmas cameo, both were corny and annoying to sit through, but luckily short parts

I missed this special when it first aired on NBC,and when I saw it was being released on DVD I had to get a copy! Being a huge Muppet fan I was very pleased to see alot of the older Muppets we haven't seen In a while being put to use again! Sure some of the leading Muppet performers are missing but I hardly noticed!
This movie was a joy to watch and I recommend it to any Muppet fan. Heck, we even get to see the old Muppet theater again! That initself was a treat! Jim Henson would be proud of this film had he been alive to see it! This will be a DVD I share with my family this year and will sit beside all my classic Christmas films as this one is truly a modern day Muppet Christmas Classic!!! The magic lives on and I own now a peice of it! You should too!

I have been a Muppets fan since childhood. This movie originally aired on TV so I was very excited to find it on DVD so that we can enjoy it for years to come. It is an especially delightful Muppets movie that reminds us of the magic of Childhood and Christmas.

It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie has been re-released with a widescreen format so the film in more compatible to high definition media displays. This film was written as a parody of the 1946 Frank Capra film "It's a Wonderful Life" in which Kermit has been challenged to save the Muppet Theatre which is heavily in debt and about to default to a "Potter"-esque property developer (actress Joan Cusack). While entertaining for younger viewers with whom the film is targeted, the 2002 made for television program is showing its age with spoofs of the 2001 film "Moulon Rouge!" and the human actors with whom are featured in the film. The only actor that would be recognized by younger viewers in the year 2010 would be Whoopi Goldberg and that as the mediator and host of the popular ABC Daytime program "The View". I feel that the re-release of this film in 2010 other than the widescreen upgrade is to raise the awareness of the Muppet franchise to younger audiences with the current production of the version 2.0 of "The Muppet Movie" that is to be released within the next year or so (similar to the version 2.0 of "Star Trek" updating the characters with X-Sports style action which was successful a year or two ago). Something for adults to watch for that I found amuzing is the Burl Ives Snowman parody which got a chuckle for me. The bottom line for me would be that this film would be amuzing to adults only for the hard core Muppet fans and for the individuals with whom would enjoy the similiarites between this film and the Capra holiday classic.
