Editorial Reviews
It's About Us, is the highly anticipated debut album from The X Factor U.S.A. winners, Alex & Sierra. Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton met while still in high school. The duo formed a close relationship, with Sierra following musician/singer Alex on his run of shows across Florida. Soon Alex began encouraging Sierra to join him on stage. The collaboration began to blossom creatively, gradually transitioning into Alex & Sierra. The effusive duo captured their initial X Factor audition in front of a rubber ducky shower curtain in Alex's college dorm. The performance would eventually snag them a spot on The X Factor in May of 2013.
After wowing all of America on The X Factor U.S.A.'s third and final season, with their covers of A Great Big World's 'Say Something,' and Sara Bareilles' 'Gravity,' the group inked their album deal with Columbia Records and Syco Music. Alex & Sierra have already sold more than a million units of their X Factor repertoire, garnering over 2 million online fans and 85 million overall YouTube views during their ascent as one of the most buzzed-about pop duos in years.
The hard working duo collaborated with multiple noted producers and songwriters on the new album, including Toby Gad (Beyonce), John Legend, Sam Hollander (Neon Trees, Gym Class Heroes), and Julian Bunetta (One Direction), among others. Other songs include "Give Me Something," "Almost Home," "Broken Frame," "Back To You," and more.

There are a few tunes on here I'm not in love with but for the most part, this is a terrific album, worthy of buying the whole thing. Bumper Cars is currently my favorite song.

Anyone who's not seen their version of Toxic on X-factor probably isn't buying this album, and that's one of the big problems.
This album took far too long to come out, and all the momentum from x-factor was gone, it was not released in Europe that I can see, there was no publicity that I could tell, and the album did not gain sales through word of mouth.
The problem with this album seems to be the songwriters. I am not sure where the "million dollar recording contract" goes, however song writing is probably not even in the budget. There is one stand out song that plays to their strengths (Bumper Cars), a couple of "ok" tracks, a bunch of filler, and a couple of tracks that destroy the album and would have been better suited to the kind of mindless pap pop of One Direction.
"Here we go" destroys the album - and is probably one reason they don't (go).
"Just Kids" - merely a biopic of the song writers...
Broken Frame and Little Do You Know are decent enough, if forgettable, and Scarecrow was a foray into chart / pop success.
If only they had played to their strengths, throughout X-factor they stayed true to themselves, but with x-factor cancelled and the show finished, maybe no one cared any more.
I wish them every success, and hope they can now find some independent label that will help them fulfil their potential.
