I have just been asked about a wholesale order. Honestly I have never done one and would love too. What is the typical wholesale discount you give?

tinyfig is correct.....most expect 50% off.

although that's not what i give. my terms are 25% off and $150 minimum order for first time customers. it's worked out very well for me, but i'm sure i've lost some accounts because of the discount. etsy is just too competitive to raise my prices enough to offer 50% off.

best of luck!

There is a thread going on about this same topic already, you might find some good suggestions there too:)

I could hardly imagine marking my jewelry at 50% for wholesale. The cost of my supplies, alone, makes that deep discount prohibitive. Also, I put too much of myself into every piece that I create to cheapen it that far. I would be willing instead to meet halfway between "industry standards" and my original asking price by offering 25% with a $150 minimum order.

Standard wholesale is 50% off. However, you could considered doing a tiered wholesale, going from 10%-50% or something like that depending on how much they order.

I used to do 50% with my line of paper goods (now defunct) but with my current line of illustrations I do 30% off with a minimum of 12 prints (they can mix and match sizes and designs). I don't actively pursue wholesale orders but the few that have approached me have seemed fine with the 30%.

I have had wholesale enquiries and offered 20% discount for a minimum order of $500, Some have accepted and others not. For vintage/antique in Europe this would be considered a good trade discount.

I guess some folks are just plain greedy.
