We were told we needed to go to a website to book a room for 2 nights on the weekend. No problem with that. There definitely was a problem with the sales pitch the website advertised! They stated every room had a microwave and refrigerator and that sold us on booking there even though I felt $380 was way over priced. I was tired and wanted a room. There was NEITHER in the room. I was very impressed and happy with the customer service! I had read some of the reviews and didn't encounter any bad experience with all I came into contact with. The 2 ladies at the front desk were being slammed with so many people checking in and 1 woman going off on them with demands. They handled it all with grace and remained respectable throughout it all. I wouldn't have been able to do that. The ladies that cleaned the room were also very polite and respectable. When she asked how my stay was, she noticed my hesitation to answer and asked me to be honest. I told her I was very happy with the customer service and that my beef was with the website for falsifying what the rooms had. We left our room and a short time later upon our return, the lady was finishing up cleaning our room and pointed out to what was brought to our room...A refrigerator! Heck yea I was beyond impressed at how they were doing their best to please us.…
room was clean, beds and pillows quite comfortable. Was told by front desk that shuttle representative starts taking names for departure time at 5pm. In fact it was more like 430pm and at 5pm only the 1230pm and 130pm slots were left. It was a take it or leave it attitude. The restaurant was loud and staff were barely civil. A breakfast dish ordered had more food than had been ordered. Just wanted eggs and toast. The hash browns were scraped off and the dish returned to the table with a throw down of the dish in front of me. Seemed there were only 2-3 staff handling a large room of customers, but still no reason for this kind of service. Front desk was helpful, but night staff not interested in helping by phone and passed my call on to national reservations when I called for pre arrival info. Not impressed by the lack of professionalism of tis hotel. Will not be back. We were a group of returning travellers which amounted to $500 in 1 night's business.…
My wife and I stayed here in December, 2021. The hotel is huge with over 300 rooms. Our room was quite large and contained a very comfortable king-size bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower had plenty of hot water and a quality shower head. The hotel obviously needs some updating, but everywhere we looked, we saw staff cleaning. More importantly, everyone we talked to was very courteous, helpful and friendly. For a very reasonable price, you get picked up at the airport, have accommodations for one night and get a free shuttle to the cruise port the next day. There is also an excellent restaurant next door.
For a budget hotel with a questionable past "The Red Carpet Inn" has certainly have come a long ways within the last three years where it was once known a a dump that will attract a seedy crowd where they have since put in some serious money and security features where they now have clean remodeled rooms with clean and comfortable beds, and amenities but still try to keep their prices competitive where it's definably a win win situation for us who still have to watch our pennies. Their price have modestly have gone up recently but with all the money they have put into the place it is more then worth it. So if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay in the mid price range , then I strongly suggest to check out the Red Car Inn. Don't let the name fool you and you will be pleasantly surprised. Also don't forget to tip your house keeper a least something. I am sure they don't get paid enough as it is while working their tails off to ensure you have a clean and comfortable room to stay in. …
My wife and I were going to stay the night, before catching a cruise on April 23rd, 2022. We had booked through Expedia. We arrived at the hotel at midnight, only to find that there was a 20 plus lineup of people waiting to get a room. We spoke to the people first in line and they said that they had waited one and a half hours in line. We then waited approximately an hour and only two couples were checked in. The receptionist would only talk to the people next in line and nobody else. The security guard would not let anyone else into the reception area because it was over capacity and we had to wait outside initially. Then people who had checked in started complaining there was no air conditioning and that there room had not been made up. After an hour, it was now past 1:00 AM and knowing that we had to get up early we went to another hotel, at full price and arranged transportation which took another hour due to an accident. I have video of customers screaming at the receptionist and long line ups. Now that we have returned from our vacation Expedia said they called the hotel, who are refusing to refund our money, even though we were never checked in, due to the hotels poor management. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Fort Lauderdale area…

If you can find somewhere else to stay within your budget, do it! There were very few options for us at the time we tried to book a single night stay before our cruise. We had seen the bad reviews but hoped that they were just exaggerations. They were not. We arrived at the hotel at 11:00pm, and had to line up outside (security at the door only allowing 1 party at a time in the lobby) for over 30 minutes. Our room was laughable at best. The dresser was pulled out from the wall, so we pushed it back in place. That’s when we realized the reason….the floor was sloped and this caused the drawers to not remain closed. We figured that was the reason for the nightstand being crooked as well. TV would not turn on, discovered that it was unplugged behind the still askew dresser….in the morning TV would not turn off, so just unplugged it like the previous guests. There are zero amenities at this property, it is really like a rural motel where the managers really don’t care if you stay there or not.…
I was supposed to stay here for 1 night at the end of September but due to travel restrictions as a result of COVID-19 I was not allowed in the country from the UK. I messaged the hotel several times to request a full refund as this was an exceptional circumstance and did not receive a reply. Really poor service and customer care. I received a paltry 10 dollars refund for a room I had no chance of using. Won't be using this place again!
Chose this place because they offered free shuttles from airport and to cruise ships the following morning, plus an attached restaurant for us to eat dinner and breakfast on site. Those were the pros. Cons were that I had to prepay entire cost six months ahead of time and they levied a more than $200 security deposit” on my credit card which they did not advise until check ans which didn’t drop, off my account for seven days. We had to wait more than 45 minutes for both evening and morning shuttles. I don’t think I would stay here again.
Like most people we spent an overnight here before our cruise mostly for the shuttle service. I think we got off better than other reviewers because there were not that many people in the hotel. The shuttle only picks up from the airport ONCE AN HOUR so be prepared to WAIT. Our room was relatively clean but very spartan with no amenities. It smelled very strongly of cleaning products/disinfectant when we walked in so that was a turn off. It is a loud location as others have noted and I was very glad for my ear plugs. The pool looked nice but the hallways were very dingy and worn. We got out on the shuttle a half an hour later than they told us but given other people's stories it didnt seem too bad. The restaurant next door seemed ok but the staff were overworked and curt. Internet worked now and then. Glad we didnt have to stay more than one night.…
