I like coming to the cafe here sitting in the sun with something to eat and watching the swimmers. Had a most delightful cheeseburger with fried onions and superb homemade chips. My daughter had a very nice full English breakfast.

Went with my daughter for a walk and something to eat. Being a sunny afternoon lots of divers enjoying the Delph. Lots of fish to see and the cafe is excellent. We had very good cheeseburger and lovely homemade chips. Nice as a none diver on a sunny afternoon.

The cafe is nice but at weekends can be very busy with divers and the many cyclists that pass by and stop for a drink and snack.

The water can be murky at times, esp at weekends when the Delph is busy and after heavy rain. Sometimes viz can drop to just a metre or so. It tends to be clearer early and later in the year esp midweek. In summer, there is a mid week late opening till 9pm

Max depth is about 18m but after prolonged periods of rain can increase to about 19-20m.

The owner has a reputation for being miserable and not particularly visitor friendly. Some say the rep is well deserved, others that you just have to get to know him.

My wife, young son & I made a 50 mile drive to check it out for a scuba dive trip as I hadn't been there in 20 years & I wish I hadn't bothered, the old guy at reception was argumentative, unhelpful & at times blatantly rude for no apparent reason, similarly the grossly overweight guy running the cafe (who I was informed was the owner's son) was not much better, it's like he was looking for an excuse to be hostile despite us making every attempt to be friendly. I wouldn't mind but we were literally the only ones there, kind of strange really. Never again.

Great place to dive. Challenging on occasion but very good value. Great dive shop and cafe. The dive shop offers a full range of equipment and repairs. Air fills are available on site but not nitrox. The cafe is great value for money and the staff are very polite and helpful.

Sadly a number of people seem to forget that it is a privately owned property and get upset when asked politely to refrain from paddling or flying drones (both of which are clearly not allowed if you read the huge signs at the gates and around the site). The quarry is cold, deep and dangerous without specialist training.

Treated with respect this is a brilliant place for a day out.

I would like to thank John for his investment into the restaurant at Eccy Delph, it is looking great.
I would also like to thank Amy for looking after us all, keeping us well fed and watered throughout the winter months in alternative accommodation.
I have no doubt that Andy and Barry will have been behind the scenes too, ensuring that the plans for the restaurant go smoothly, so I am grateful to them too.
Thank you very much,
Ged

Just been diving at the Delph, travelled some distance to get there and found out I’d left my dry suit on its hanger at home , and had a faulty set of regs🤷🏻‍♂️… Barry and Andy could not have been more helpful in sorting me out… Barry looked at the regs and identified the problem immediately… he said give me five minutes and I’ll sort it for you .. true to his word, five minutes later my regs were as good as new.
So a great day’s diving was had thanks to these two

Vist Delph for open water swimming regularly. Great venue for training etc - a kids free area is important for an untroubled swim. Staff always friendly and helpful, water quality excellent. A lovely swim in a lovely setting - cant beat it on a sunny day.

I love to come here for breakfast when we are out and about up this way. It is nice to sit out and watch other people being energetic, whilst I chomp away at a delicious steak burger for breakfast. Lady that runs the cafe was lovely and the cakes are simply awesome. All this in a very pleasant place....so relaxing.

Went with my husband and 2 children to feed the fish and have a picnic. We were approached by a very rude obnoxious man called John. We were told we cannot feed the fish nor have our own food there. Normally we would have just said "Ok not a problem", but his rude, aggressive approach already had us shook up. He then demanded we show him what was in our bags and when we refused he continued to swear at us in front of our children and other children close by.
We have been there many times for a picnic never had issues. Will never be going again or recommending the Delph while John owns it. Such a shame because it is a beautiful place just a shame about the owner.
