Alien Tape is a transparent, double-sided, and reusable type of tape that's been designed to work on a wide variety of surfaces, such as wood, brick, stone, tile, and glass. It's stated that this tape can be reused many times, as long as it's rinsed in between uses, and that when it's removed from a particular surface, it won't leave any sticky residue behind. Aside from being used indoors, it's also meant to be used outdoors, even in areas that may be exposed to wet weather.

How It Works

Alien Tape works by virtue of advanced nano-grip technology, which is what enables it to cling to nearly any surface without the use of adhesive. When you apply this tape to a surface, every square millimeter of each piece you've used will almost instantly cling to that surface in the same manner as a suction cup would. It'll keep up its bond with that surface as long as you want it to, but when you want to break the suction, you'll be able to do so by giving it a gentle pull. Alternatively, if two objects are attached to one another, giving one of the objects a gentle twist will also break the bond that the tape has created.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Apply Tape

Before you use this tape, you'll need to select two surfaces that you want to bond together. These might include a stationary surface (such as a wall or floor) and two free-floating objects, or two free-floating objects on their own. Once you've selected two surfaces, simply apply a piece of tape to one of them to get started. You can cut a piece of tape from your roll and then apply it, or measure your chosen surface while the tape's still on the roll and cut it afterward.

  2. Create Bond

While keeping your piece of tape stuck to the surface you've applied it to, affix the second object you've chosen to the other side of the tape in order to create a bond. Press down for a few seconds to consolidate the bond between the two surfaces, and then remove your fingers. When you release the pressure, the bond between the two surfaces should remain intact.

  3. Use Bonded Surfaces Normally

If you've applied your Alien Tape correctly, you should be able to use the two surfaces you've bonded together as you normally would, without running the risk of damaging them. In the event that the bond appears too weak, you may need to add one or more pieces of tape to create a stronger bond, especially if the surfaces you're working with are large.

Features

  • Clear

All Alien Tape is clear and transparent, so no matter what objects or surfaces you use it on, it won't be highly visible to people who are looking at them.

  • Set of Three Rolls

In a set, you'll get three identical rolls of this transparent tape. You may want to keep two rolls at home and toss one in your glove compartment, or even take one to work if you think you might make use of it there. With all three rolls equaling 21 feet of tape, you'll most likely have enough to create hundreds of bonds between various surfaces.

  • Durable

Alien Tape is durable enough to withstand the pressure of up to 17.5 pounds of weight without ripping or otherwise refraining from doing its job. Plus, by working together, multiple pieces of this tape will likely be able to support objects that are much heavier than 17.5 pounds.

  • Waterproof and Weatherproof

This tape is both weatherproof and waterproof. That means you'll be able to use some in an indoor area that may be exposed to water, such as your bathroom or kitchen, and within nearly any outdoor area you can think of. Besides rain, the tape's been designed to stand up to heat and humidity in the summer and snow in the winter.

  • Reusable

You can reuse a piece of Alien Tape multiple times, and it should work just as effectively the seventh time as it did the first. Before using a piece again, though, you must remember to rinse it off in the sink and let it dry before applying it to a new surface.

  • Slim

Each piece of this tape is fairly slim (about an inch wide), so if you need to fit some into a narrow space, you won't have to cut down its width. On the other hand, pieces of book tape and duct tape tend to be about twice as wide, so they may need to be cut down more often. If the need to tape up a wider surface with Alien Tape ever arises, you can always use multiple pieces.

Positive Points

  • Ideal for Children's Items

If you've got a child sitting at the table in a high chair or a regular chair, and you want their food to stay put in front of them, Alien Tape can help you out. You can use this double-sided tape to literally tape their dish or plate to the table as they eat, so they won't spill it or knock it to the floor. Along the same lines, if your kids are rough on their toys and tend to break them, this type of tape can be used to quickly make discreet repairs.

  • Can Hang Items Hole-free

You may want to hang various pictures, hooks, and racks around your home, but you may also want to avoid drilling holes in order to do so. If that's the case, it'll come as a relief that you can hang almost anything from a wall, a door, or a cabinet with Alien Tape. You won't need to worry about the tape being exposed to water, as it won't lose its suctioning power as it gets wet. Moreover, if you decide to take something down that you've hung with it, it'll leave no residue behind instead of leaving a nasty hole.

  • Keeps Furniture in Place

This tape may also be helpful when you want to keep your furniture in place, so it's not sliding all over your living room, office, or kitchen. If you stick just a square inch or so of this tape to the bottom of each chair leg, the Alien Tape's double-sided suctioning will stop it from slipping. The same goes if you apply narrow strips of this tape to the bottom of a desk so that it won't slide away from you as you work.

Save Money

Most types of tape aren't reusable, so when you're done with a roll, you'll need to replace it or go without. However, due to the reusable nature of Alien Tape, you'll be able to move it from place to place as required. If you no longer need it in a particular location, you'll be able to transfer it to a new location instead of obtaining a replacement roll of tape to meet your latest needs.

Works Fine for Me

I have used it on several small or light-duty applications and it has held up. Most of the uses could have been done with regular two-sided tape but I bought this at Walmart and figured I would give it a try. I really have no complaints. There are better bonding agents for heavy-duty applications.

Garbage

As mentioned it doesn’t stick, it takes paint off and when peeling it off it breaks into tiny pieces. Who warrants this crap? Now I have to patch and paint. Replace picture frames as they fell off the wall and broke. Plastic frames with glass. Max 1lb but they claim it will hold a brick. Lol what a scam. Don’t waste your money.

Alien Tape is Awful

This is the worst tape I have ever bought. Did not hold a heavily used area rug. The tape had to be removed by a scraper and came off in pieces. Holds great until it doesn't and mine held that rug down for 1 week.

Not as Advertised on TV

I bought this product because I wanted to hang something on our brick fireplace. The commercial illustrates a brick being fastened on a brick wall. The instructions inside the package of the package instruct you NOT to use it on any rough surface and had an X placed on the image of a brick wall. This is CLEARLY false advertising but then I am expected to pay to ship it back and pay whatever their shipping fee was. RIP OFF.

Alien Tape Doesn’t Stay Stuck on Vertical Objects

I have tried to hang several small to medium pictures and canvases on smooth walls and wooden doors, and by the next day they’re all on the floor! I have even gone overboard with the amount of tape I used and still all size photos fall off. I also attempted to reuse some of the tapes as shown on TV, but it doesn’t work. It is good for holding down rugs and some small pieces of furniture.

Do not Buy!

It took the plaster off the wall when I hung a tiny painting that weighs nothing! It doesn't stick to glass, either, I hung a decoration that, again, weighed nothing and it kept falling off.

I'm Glad I Read Rviews First!

The commercial on TV sounded extreme so I checked some reviews and am glad I did.
Now I definitely won't buy it.

Save Your Money

I bought this thinking it was better than using nails. The commercial shows it holding bricks together on a wall, it says can be put in the shower. False advertising at its best. Directions say, not on painted walls, will stain, not to use in places where there's moisture, not on vinyl blah. I hung up a 5×7 wooden photo frame on the wall. Stayed up 3 hrs and fell and it did leave a bit of a stain. You can use it on very little. Save your money. Get command instead. You get what you pay for with command performance. Alien Tape belongs in space, it's crap!

Shitty Product

Purchased items that had Alien Tape as an adhesive strip on it. One item was a strip light for my keyboard, less than 2 ounces, and it fell off within a week. I used the command strip adhesive tape instead and it is still holding for many months now.
Run, run fast, away from this scam of a product.

Buyer Beware

TV says $19.99 "USD", yet it ships from Canada and you have to pay CDN taxes. Plus, shipping and handling.(?) The product comes from the US - so a Cdn distributor is making $ on exchange. Reviews are bad and Amazon sells for $19.00CDN for three rolls with shipping included. Too many Marketing/sales inconsistencies. Buyer beware.

AWFUL

I used this tape to hang Christmas lights - a simple string and a wreath. I was so excited, was going to order more right away. The next morning everything was on the ground. I'm just happy I didn't order any more. Not like me to not check reviews, but this time I messed up. Please don't waste your money.

NOT Waterproof Etc

Actually, the Alien Tape has been pretty good at holding objects down and a picture to the wall. It is NOT waterproof--totally worthless at holding a bath mat from sliding in the tub/shower.
Oh, and it didn't hold the broken visor in my car up for long either.

Removal of Tape is Very, Very Difficult

I had four throw rugs taped on my tile floor with Alien Tape. Two were completely ruined when removing to wash them. It took me 5 hours to remove the tape from the tile. I even used goo-be-gone and nail polish remover. Not much help. Just 5 hours of elbow grease scraping, scraping, and scraping! The instruction brochure says it can be used on wood floors. Thank goodness I did not use it on my wood floors. At least the tile was not ruined from 5 hours of scraping. Do not waste your good money on this product! False advertising.

NOT What it Claims

I watched the ads and read about the product! It sounded and looked great, just what I needed. I bought a three-pack as it sounded like a great product. I definitely made a poor choice and now just see it as false advertising and a waste of my money. I have not found anything that works on as advertised. Do not waste your money!

DO NOT BUY!

What a scam! On TV, the commercial lists everything it can stick to. When you get it, it has a list of what it can't stick to - most of what was listed in the commercial! It didn't even work for putting our rear dashcam on the back window!

Afraid to Use

So I got suckered in and bought three rolls before I read the reviews. Now I am scared to use this product. I was going to use hang some indoor Decor but afraid it will ruin my walls and drywall. The commercial show it holding a man suspended in the air. I have some heavy certificate frames I was going to use is for in my office and am afraid to. Does anyone have a positive experience?

I tried hanging 16-inch wall plastic wall clock. Seemed simple but came crashing off the wall a few hours later! Hung wall art at the same time (weight of both less than 2 pounds). It came crashing down too a few hours later! Now can’t get tape removed from walls. Has pulled paint off the walls! Really disappointed after watching these great ads & paying for this product & it won’t even hold up my lightweight objects. Back to using nails for me!

Worked For Me!

I used the tape for Outdoor Christmas Decorations and lights and it worked great. Everything stayed in place from November Thru February. Snow, wind, rain, ice & 10 degree temperatures. This summer I used it to put up solar stairs and house lights. The stairs are rough stone and I thought the tape would not stick due to such unlevel surfaces or that it might melt in 95-degree weather. Neither happened. The last test is to see if the lights remain intact once buried in the snow. I think this tape is fantastic and would NEVER use it to stick anything on my door walls!

She's likely related to the guy who "created" it and this lies in how good the product is. Either that or he paid for the positive review. There are people who do that without actually using the product.
