This school is going bankrupt, there are way too many students and not nearly enough resources for them all. My dorm room freshman year had black mold so I switched to another dorm room and it had a really bad roach problem. The food is almost inedible and the professors have stopped caring. So to any incoming freshmen who are interested in going to WVU: Go literally anywhere else. I would've been better off throwing the $25,000 I spent into a fire. Also everyone does drugs and its a bigger problem than people here make it out to be.
It has generally been fun. The social scene is great and it’s easy to make friends. Downtown is fun. The dining hall sucks. Professors are pretty chill and understanding
I love this University. It's a college campus, majority of the students live downtown. I love the classes I'm taking and some of my professors. I would like to see changes in the food and honestly the safety at night. Overall I really enjoy my time here and I will never regret it.
Very fun atmosphere, easy to find things to get into no matter what hobbies you are into. Easy to get distracted by party scene but also easy to avoid party scene all together. Overall great experiences have came from WVU and i’m sure many more are to come.
West Virginia is an amazing school when it comes to athletics and student life. We have iconic traditions, good teams, great Greek life, and the PRT. The only thing that leaves me wanting more is the student meal plans. The dining halls are sub-par and I find myself eating off-campus often, which isn't the best use of money while being a college kid. The dorms are simply ok. My building at least, is nothing to write home about, the best things about it are the dining facility being under my dorm as well as the convenience store. Overall WVU is an amazing school with hiccups of course, but they can easily be over looked when enjoying the rest of the campus.
I really enjoyed the academic opportunities I received at West Virginia University. I think that my program I was a part of (Exercise Physiology) is perfect for my educational goals and has a variety of opportunities for personal interests including community service, aquatic therapy interests, and overall education about exercise.
I have personally had a very good experience so far here at WVU. Campus life is very fun, there’s tons of activities and people everywhere. I enjoy my classes a lot and I love the campus itself. I enjoy the food in the Mountainlair a lot and don’t mind the food at my local dining hall. My favorite thing is my major, Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics. It’s a great pathway for what I want to do after my undergrad and is so interesting to me. The only thing I wish could be a little different are some of the professors. I have has some poor experiences already with a couple but overall, I’m excited to continue on with the next couple years here at WVU!
I loved the friendships I have grown and network I have created. I would love to see food options change and housing getting upgraded to enhance the overall experience.
WVU has great professors who care about how you do in their class and prioritize student well-being.
Transferring to WVU from PSU was transformative, thanks to the exceptional leadership within my major. The faculty's personal engagement and the support system here are unparalleled, offering a level of understanding and care rare in academia. I'm inspired to become an SPE officer at WVU, aiming to broaden the scope of petroleum engineering projects to emphasize sustainability and multifaceted skills. My goal is to enhance college sustainability through initiatives like effective composting and improve communication between students and faculty for a more functional college environment. WVU's supportive community and the potential for meaningful impact make my experience here truly remarkable.
I had no idea what i was getting into when i applied for WVU. The nursing school is extremely hard to get into and i had a set back of getting denied my first year but i am glad i retried the following year because i got my acceptance and have never been happier here. The staff in nursing really cares for the students and only want you to succeed.
I feel I have gotten the best education that is fitted to my needs and wants out of a degree. I however did not appreciate that cutting of the languages programs at the university. I have never felt unsafe on the campus. I would like to add more student parking because it is limited on campus. I would like more political diversity on campus, and all environment that everyone can feel free to share their opinions.
This college is a perfect fit for me who loves the outdoors and taking college academics seriously. It also has a great mix of extracurriculars. I play club baseball which has men a great opportunity for me to make friends and get evolved in more activities on campus. There are many different club teams on campus anything from swimming, basketball, and lacrosse. This is a great school for all different interests.
One of the best choices I made was coming to West Virginia, I love the people here. I have met some lifelong friends and the education here is great as well, professors are very flexible and helpful. I like how friendly everyone is, but something I would like to see change is the dining hall food.
WVU is about everything i thought it would be. Coming from WV, WVU is a prominent college to me. When I came here, I was not prepared for the thrill it is to be here. The party life is amazing and the university has several accommodations to ensure your safety and fun! The academics are not the best, the professors are not very good and some can barely speak English. Those are the bad professors though, some of the professors I currently have are amazing.
The student experience at West Virginia University is outstanding. There is many different ways for students to be involved on campus like the very active football and basketball scene, WVUp All Night which is a free event with crafts, food, and other activities, and there is over 500 student clubs. I have never felt unsafe on campus, and overall I am very happy here. I would say that one of the downsides for me is the nightlife, but that is because I am not the type of person to go out every weekend. However, if you are, there is more than enough nightlife in Morgantown. There are several different Greek life organizations that are very active, along with other places to hang out on a Friday night. WVU supports all of its students in every way possible, and I truly think that once you become a Mountaineer, you will never be happier. Let's Go!
I am really enjoying my time here at WVU. It is a big campus with a lot of people, but somehow it feels small in a lot of ways. I enjoy my classes, although sometimes the professors can be all over the place. The food and housing is decent, there are a lot of options. The party scene is intense, but there is a lot of other things you can do than just that. I really like the REC center and campus life.
