Purdue University Reviews
Rating 3.83 out of 5 5,155 reviews
Academically challenging school that heavily focuses on STEM majors. If you are in liberal arts, there is a nice community but it is small and not nearly as funded as the STEM programs. Campus is walkable filled with nice community spaces and plenty of libraries, cafes, and rooms to study and meet with classmates. A lot of school spirit centered around the athletics. Most people live off campus starting second year. The apartments in Chauncey Square are an excellent location and close to night life spots and restaurants. Campus is very diverse and there are many opportunities to join clubs and student groups. Purdue is only 1 or 2 hours away from two different international airports, and shuttle busses run nearly everyday between those airports and Purdue campus, making travel easier for international or out of state students. Boiler up!
I was a full time student at Purdue University for 4.5 years. I am also going back in fall 2024 for a Master's Degree in Dietetics so you could say that I like Purdue a lot! Purdue's student body was overall friendly and very academically driven. There is a greek life/party scene at Purdue but it seems to be dying down. The academics at Purdue is rigorous and students do need to take their classes seriously. There are many free options for tutoring such as SI sessions which are extremely helpful for STEM classes. The campus life was enjoyable, there was always something going on and there are hundreds of clubs that are open for anyone to join. It is very easy to get involved at Purdue and I enjoyed my time there a lot!
My experience at Purdue University has been nothing short of transformative. From the moment I stepped onto campus, The academic rigor and excellence at Purdue have challenged me to expand my horizons, think critically, and pursue my passions with fervor. Moreover, the vibrant campus life, with its myriad of clubs, organizations, and events, has allowed me to immerse myself in a diverse and dynamic community where I've formed lifelong friendships and forged invaluable connections. Whether conducting research in state-of-the-art facilities, participating in hands-on learning experiences, or attending inspiring guest lectures, every moment at Purdue has contributed to my growth and development as a student, a leader, and a global citizen. I am grateful for the rich tapestry of experiences and opportunities that Purdue University has offered me, and I look forward to continuing to make the most of my time here as I pursue my academic and career aspirations.
