Nestled on Granville Island, the Granville Island Hotel boasts a tranquil atmosphere with comfortably appointed rooms, albeit with some dated decor, according to guests. Many visitors laud its picturesque setting and convenience to local attractions, while the staff's professionalism and responsiveness frequently receive commendations. Although the hotel's cleanliness is a highlight, some guests feel it's overpriced, pointing to the modestly-sized rooms and additional fees. Despite mixed reviews on room maintenance and amenities, the overall serene views and prime location are often celebrated.

We chose this hotel for a one-night stay while traveling through with our dog. The price was very reasonable given the location, and there was no additional fee for having our pet with us. Parking was ample and available right next to the hotel - definitely an amenity given this prime location. Our room, although small, was spotless with a very comfortable King bed, with opening doors and a small balcony overlooking the water and the large green space which was perfect for walking our dog. This location is perfect for exploring Granville Island. We will definitely return and highly recommend this boutique hotel.

We loved this little boutique hotel! They were especially accommodating of my chemical sensitivities and made sure there were no scents in the room. They also brought in hypo-allergenic pillows. It was a very comfy stay with excellent hospitality and perfect for exploring Granville.

My husband and I live in White Rock, about 45 minutes drive from Vancouver city. We booked a two night “staycation” at the hotel, since we had three different events scheduled all on Granville Island for the weekend. The hotel was sold out and just packed when we arrived, with large groups of youth bands and orchestras staying in the hotel, and somehow we ended up assigned to a room that wasn’t the room type that I had originally booked. The room assigned to us was TERRIBLE - small, airless, view of the back of a roof, with a terrible rock hard bed (avoid room 210!), very disappointing especially considering the fairly high price point that we’d paid! Upon hearing our disappointment the next morning (we were prepared to just go home) the hotel manager named Russell was fabulous, finding us another room that was greatly improved despite the busy situation, ensuring that it was going to be comfortable for us, and he checked in with us numerous times after that to ensure that we were enjoying our stay. He sent up some thoughtful gifts from the hotel to apologize for the mix-up, and was so friendly and concerned that our stay was improved. We decided to add a third night to our weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay. The staff at the hotel from the housekeeping crew, to the restaurant team, to most of the front desk staff were all very friendly, professional, and seemed to genuinely care that we and other hotel guests were enjoying our stays. The staff worked hard to open the beautiful new patio section of the restaurant as the weather improved dramatically over the few days, and we really enjoyed the ambiance and the food both outside and inside the restaurant during happy hour afternoons and dinner. The breakfast wasn’t as good, The location of the hotel is wonderful, a short stroll to all the galleries, shops, restaurants, and marketplace area of Granville Island as well as the incredible seawall walks along False Creek. As long time residents of the Vancouver area, we have enjoyed this area many times in the past, but actually staying in the hotel and enjoying the area like a tourist (without the long drive home) ended up feeling like a real treat, thanks to Russell the hotel services manager! We think we will plan to do this again but next time will ensure before our arrival that we have a premium room or better assigned to us. Avoid room 210, and likely the rest of those “Granville Island King” rooms!! Thank you to Russell and most of the staff for their efforts, and for helping us to have a very enjoyable stay!

Hotel was easy to book. Front desk staff were very helpful in ensuring we had a taxi waiting when we needed to get to our dinner location. They also immediately replaced the batteries in the door of the safe in our room. The serving staff at breakfast were cheerful and friendly and food was good. The view of the harbour was awesome.

Our family booked 2 rooms for the end of our stay in Vancouver at this hotel. We had a great experience and absolutely recommend this hotel. The rooms and lobby are spotless and clean and the staff is terrific. The rooms are smaller but well designed with great bathroom lighting and everything you need. There is an indoor hot tub but no pool. For us the "star of the show" was the restaurant for breakfast, absolutely delicious and a lovely view from the patio. You do need to book a patio table in advance, or be ready to wait an hour or two. We found this at many restaurants in Vancouver so think ahead. We combined it with a stay in the Coal Harbour area because we wanted to enjoy this more central area of Vancouver as well. The location of Granville Island hotel is a pretty spot, and it is only a cheap aqua bus ride away from Yale town which is a lot of fun for dinner and a walk or ice cream. Granville Island itself is quiet in the evening for sure and away from the action. Our hotel in Coal Harbour was a bit less expensive by comparison I was glad we experienced both areas. We totally loved Vancouver, just an amazing place to vacation and enjoy in Canada.

We had a great relaxing week end with family and our dog. The staff were super friendly, always checking via text to ensure everything was ok. It was the perfect location for us as we enjoyed spending time on Granville Island and because it was at the opposite end of the island from the Public Market it was quiet.

Our only criticism is that the rooms are starting to show their age in terms of the wear and tear, which was annoying considering the price of the stay, I would argue that even though it was the summer, it was possibly overpriced. Having said that the hotel was full.

We would return and definitely enjoyed our stay.

A recent trip to Vancouver meant I could stay at a hotel that I had seen before but not visited - the Granville Island Hotel. It was close to family I was visiting. I had booked a balcony room but it did not have a water view - which was essential for me. They upgraded me to a suite with sweeping water views at a minimal price increase. They told me I would have to move rooms after two nights - but right next door with the same view and they would do the moving. They did and it was seamless. I had room service breakfast twice and ate breakfast in the restaurant once. Both were good. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were spotlessly clean. If I could fault anything, one of the TV's didn't work in the first suite. Neither bath had any sort of grab bars in the bath/shower combo which was a touch uncomfortable for this older American who is used to grab bars everywhere. You can dine, shop, get an aqua bus to downtown, watch the scullers or walk the sea wall all without getting any sort of other transport. It's a great place to stay.

This is our second stay at this great hotel, this time it was during Covid, so things were expectedly different. Again this place is SPOTLESS, which puts you at ease while we're all trying to adapt to new ways of life. This is our favourite spot in Vancouver and will continue to stay at this hotel while we visit family in this part of the country. Two small things this time though that maybe they could address? First would be to maybe , just maybe get screens for the patio doors so that people could have them open in the evenings listening to the sounds of the harbour without hundreds of moths flocking into the room? It was disappointing having to keep it closed during our stay. We wanted to sit out there, but again the moths were too much , we are aware that moths outside are NOT a fault of the hotel, so this isn't a complaint about them, instead we would've been content to have the patio doors open but couldn't due to the moths coming in. It's a small issue I know, but maybe something the hotel could think of updating in the future? It's such a cute little balcony with chairs and table with a view of the boats, buildings etc, it's a shame to have it go to waste like that. The second issue is one that we were aware of before we got there and it is COVID related but confusing none the less. Why can't the dining room be open for breakfast? Whether it is served outside or offered for patrons as take out ( not room service ) that would be most helpful. If it's open for lunch and dinner, why not breakfast? The other hotels were serving all 3, so we didn't understand why the inconsistency with rules? Other than that, there were zero issues with the place, it's a true gem in a much quieter area which we truly love to visit. We are looking forward to a ( fingers crossed ) Covid free return visit.

Stayed five days in the penthouse at the Granville Island Hotel - room 402. The room has wrap-around patios that are ideal for hosting small social gatherings while maintaining social distancing. I can't say enough about the views and floor to ceiling windows overlooking False Creek. Jetted tub in the master bedroom has windows on two sides providing a truly relaxing Vancouver experience.

Room amenities include a large kitchen area, dining table for six, pull out sofa, fireplace, and lots of room to move about.

For entertaining in these challenging times, Dockside Restaurant downstairs has a great menu and plenty of space to spread out.

Like shopping? You are located in the heart of Granville Island, but without any traffic.

Like exercise? The hotel is located on the sea wall walkway, 15 minutes from an ocean front off lease dog park.

Want access to the city? Water taxis within a short walk will take you everywhere.

I can't think of staying downtown Vancouver again with this oasis tucked away in Granville Island.

Try the Olympic village sky train stop I think on Canada line but it’s still half an hour walk from there maybe but you can get the number 50 bus to Granville island. Or get the aqua bus and I think you have to walk down davie street a bit as well.sorry I can’t be more help but just note not to take the sky train to the Granville stop as it’s not near g island.have fun it’s worthwhile getting a good old fashioned map I find.
