    Delicious Turkish food.
Just visited the Turkish Gozleme stall on Bury Market today. The food was cooked fresh in front of my eyes, it tasted amazing and was great value for money. We had the Mix Gozleme with lamb and a lamb pide. We will definitely be back for further visits and to try some of the other dishes.

    A good market but !
The world famous market offers value for money with a wide range of stalls, the only issue I had is on the outside market there is a jewellery stall, I wanted to try a ring on to see whether it fitted and the man said no !!!! You should no what size you are? He could of made 150 pound by selling the ring to me, but I walked away.

Bury Market.... The atmosphere was fantastic, the people are so friendly and full of Northern charm...
What an amazing experience, the hussle and bussle is so enchanting, you just don't get markets like that anymore. Bury Market is a hidden gem. It's no wonder that Chef Rick Stein spoke so highly of it. My favourite stalls were Chadwicks Black Puddings and Iddons fruit and veg they were both outstanding

It's in Bury. It's a market. If you like markets and you have no problem visiting Bury, this is the place for you. And it's a biggy! The award winning market is a huge place selling all manner of produce from dubious looking cheap tat to more pies than I've ever seen in my life. Bury Market must be seen to be believed. Recommend

Don't be deceived when you read Multi-Award Winning Market. Much as the statement is factually correct it promises more than it delivers. Most of the outdoor stalls offer the same cheap and nasty tat that you can find at any town market up and down the country.

The indoor food stalls, greengrocers, butchers and fishmongers are no doubt of reasonable quality but having been spoiled by the wonderful food markets in Crete and mainland Greece over recent years even these failed to fully impress

Bury Market is ideally situated with bus and metro links both on the doorstep. It forms part of the Mill Gate shopping centre complex. The market is effectively in three parts. There is the indoor market hall and across the way is the meat and fish market, with the open air market leading off that and stretching all the way round the back of the main market hall. Both indoor and outdoor markets have a number of cafés and eateries. There are some excellent butchers and green grocers and the fresh fish was superb. A whole large fresh salmon for £22 looked like a great bargain. The butchers have just about everything, from giant chops to game and not forgetting the famous Bury Black Pudding. Of course, Yorkshire Black Pudding is infinitely superior but keep it to yourself. The vegetables were magnificent and you couldn't get any fresher. The rest of the market has anything from clothing to furniture. There are plenty of bargains to be had. I would be there every week if I lived closer.

I live in Bury and I’m just back from a lovely time shopping in Bury Market, no fighting for toilet roll, bickering over rice or kicking off about supplies! Instead there was plenty of everything to go round, smiling faces and a load of people all being considerate of each other. I got there at 8am and was done in just over an hour and that’s only because I was wandering round chatting! I got the most amazing fruit and veg from Paul Smedley’s fruit and veg, which is tucked in the far right corner, chicken from one of the butcher’s on the fish market, toilet roll and household stuff from the discount store at the end of the market nearest the bus station. They’ll run out of toilet roll today but will have more on Wednesday. I got gluten free treats from Sally’s bakes on the old flea market and cheese from Purdon’s next to the subway near the old flea market......

Maybe think about shopping local, it’ll be cheaper, there were no queues, no fighting and no one cared how much toilet roll we all got and you’ll put money in the pockets of local suppliers! Such a great and varied selection of food, drink, household products, books, clothes, cafés.........

We really are so very lucky in Bury

Love coming here. Came Friday morning thinking it would be busy but was perfect for us. Fruit and veg stalls brilliant with lots of the more unusual produce at great prices. Both indoor/outdoor parts equally as good. Meat/fish halls great too. good day out.

Another visit to Bury. One of the best towns in Greater Manchester. While there I visited Bury market. Never fails to impress, loads of local delicacies from Manchester tart, Eccles cakes and of course Black Pudding. The stall holders are as friendly as ever and their produce as fresh and good quality as ever.

The short trip from Victoria to Bury Met station of about 20 minutes is so quick. Well done to the people of Bury, you keep me coming back, you really have the greatest market in Greater Manchester.

My friend and I got the tram to Bury for a browse around the market. I wouldn’t describe it as outstanding- it was just like any other market, really. There were a couple of cheap clothes stalls, a sweet stall, a book stall, a homeware stall…etc.

As recommended, I got a Black Pudding bap from one of the vendors: that and a can of Pepsi was £2.50…you can’t go wrong!

Perhaps we didn’t go at the best of times since some of the stall-owners were self-isolating at home, and the open air market wasn’t on. We spent more time in the nearby shopping centres.

Just had a great day out here, it’s huge with numerous stalls selling all range of goods at very economical prices. Lots of shoppers and I do mean lots give the whole place a vibrant atmosphere with it being exactly like markets were twenty years ago. It really is one of those places where you end up buying all the things you never knew you needed until you got there. I note one review used the word “Tat” and this is not the case I think “Good Value” is much better.

It’s also fair to say you will not starve, I cannot recall the last time I saw a place with so many good value eateries.

If you like markets do go you will not be disappointed!!!

Revisited Bury Market recently and it was fab! Definitely the best market we have been to in the UK - a proper, functioning traditional market unlike the pretentious artisan markets. Many foodie stalls, with a bustling atmosphere and people are friendly. Got loads of baked products, some cheeses, sausages, cake, etc, etc. Could have had alot more if I wasn't so full! There is no need for supermarkets here as you can get all you need from the market stalls and prices are generally reasonable. Great place to visit, definitely recommended!

Compared to the great markets of my childhood in Leeds and Sheffield in the 1970s and 80s this is a poor shadow and only half the size.
But the past is the past and compared with neighboring towns markets in the 21st century this market is outstanding and well integrated with the rest of the shopping district and the modern mill gate shopping centre.
A pleasant surprise was low prices which one would expect in a market. But some markets prices are absurd. Then, Bury is a poor town.

Always great to revisit this market where I get my delicious merguez sausages. Very friendly stall holders and even though it was a Saturday not too busy for us. People still using their common sense and mostly wearing masks etc which I like. Bargains always to be had and love strolling around. Large carpark through the underpass ÂŁ2 for 2hrs so good to unload shopping in car and go back for more!!! Loads of stalls for everyone's needs.
