What travelers are saying
- Jennifer CSingapore, Singapore2 contributionsThe museum is well laid out on 3 floors with many interesting artefacts that give visitors some idea of the period within which the tin industry was flourishing. From mining to daily living is all covered. The tin magnets who made fortunes are also highlighted. It is appropriately situated at the top of Concubine Lane which
arose during this time. The tour guide Leong Meng Fai was excellent, very informative and brought things to life. Well worth the hour tour!Written May 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a self guided tour. You can buy a tea from them as well. Entrance is freeWritten April 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve RBolton, UK524 contributionsIf you're in the area then you should definitely visit Perak Tong. It's one of a few temples within a cave in Malaysia and has a relaxed and thought provoking vibe to it. I can recommend it but only for an hour or so.Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KamelmatPerth, Australia102 contributionsWorth a visit if you’re in the area. It is a beautiful temple nestled in a large cave. The lighting within the cave makes photographing an easy task.Written May 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LeonhknyHong Kong, China19,476 contributionsWhile Penang has long been well-known for street art, Ipoh also has its fair share of murals. Interesting paintings depicting daily life of Ipoh residents are available in the old town. Searching for artworks while exploring the former mining city is an enjoyable experience.Written January 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KamelmatPerth, Australia102 contributionsIt has a bit of history and worth a wander for a look. There are stalls/shops either side of the lane that sell nothing special. The only shop I really enjoyed and bought something was a chinese herbal shop at one end.Written May 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neris29Singapore, Singapore230 contributionsOwners have re-created a local village at this very picturesque location set within limestone hills and ponds. Kids enjoyed cycling around on family bicycles which available free of charge. Rickshaws are similarly available if you fancy more exercise. There are lots of fish and turtles in the ponds and fish feed can be purchased for RM 1 per packet. Overall, it was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so. Certainly it was more enjoyable than I had expected.Written December 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelGrace29 contributionsDefinitely worth the price!! Discovered many interesting things and history in this museum. Not only managed to experience the histories but also managed to get some yesteryears souvenirs in the Arlene house gift shop! Hard to get or even see this kind of special gifts or souvenirs anywhere else! Overall, it was a good and valuable experience!! Would totally recommend this place to my friends and family!Written April 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Leong Chee ShengSingapore, Singapore334 contributionsWe were told it is one of the oldest cave temples here so we had to come take a look. Note that they close quite early at 230pm.
Beautiful temple but the locals told us it has not been well-maintained. Much overgrown vegetation and dim at some point, but it still has its charm here.
Grab a bowl of chopped tomatoes to feed the tortoises at the other outlet of the cave temple. We spent /497'd 30-45 minutes here. Best to see other caves in the area to make your trip worthwhile.Written November 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
