Season 2 of Invincible on Amazon Prime will debut in less than a few months. Here are the eleven unforgettable characters that could make their debut.
As this article is being written, season 2 of Invincible is less than three months away from debuting. The hit Amazon Prime show premiered in 2021.
Fans didn't get an update on its return until the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con via a trailer. Within it were new clips from the show, an update on its release (November 3, 2023), and the twenty-plus new voice actors that will appear. Among the performers being added is the incomparable and award-winning performer, Sterling K. Brown. He was perfectly cast as Invincible's fanatic foe, Angstrom Levy.
Angstrom Levy won't be the only new character to debut in season 2 of Invincible. With so many new voice actors, there will definitely be characters showing up that weren't in the premiere season. Viewers should expect to see Capes, Inc, The Astounding Wolf-Man, and tons of random villains. There's also going to be an appearance from the iconic Peter Cullen. When people think of Optimus Prime, he's the voice they hear. He'll be playing Great Thaedus. A role that will be instrumental in season 3 and beyond.
The eleven characters coming up will have a major impact on the story. Since there hasn't been news on who the new voice actors are playing, this writer will guess who they'll play.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 OF INVINCIBLE COMING UP!!!
11. Spider-Man
While Robert Kirkman was writing Invincible, he was penning Marvel Team-Up. He had the genius idea to bring Mark into the Marvel universe in Marvel Team-Up No. 14. Within that crossover, Mark Grayson beat Doctor Octopus with ease and met the Avengers. Not shocking to anyone, Mark was weird around them. He gave them all nicknames based on Peter calling himself Spider-Man. Among them were Claw-Man (Wolverine) and Fabio-Man (Sentry)
This may be a long shot, but it's possible. If you don't see him, there's a possibility that his webs will come through Angstrom Levy's portals. It happened in the Invincible comics. Why not on Amazon Prime?
Voiced by: Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man, Green Lantern: The Animated Series)
10. Tek Knight
Tek-Knight isn't a character that's going to woo anyone with super strength or invulnerability. Instead, you'll be amazed by the creative things his armor can do. The easiest way to picture it is if you combined Iron Man and Blue Beetles armor.
At first glance, it looks like something Iron Man would have built in his earlier days. Similar to Blue Beetle, the suit is alive. Also like Jaime Reyes, Tek Knight is goofy at times but has the ability to stand up against and defeat a Viltrumite.
Voiced by: Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, Sonic the Hedgehog)
9. Conquest
Invincible will be overwhelmed by a lot of villains throughout this series. None of them as much as Conquest. Not even the biggest and most terrifying of the Viltrumites (Thragg) achieved what Conquest did. He didn't just brutally batter Mark. Conquest almost killed him and psychologically tortured him. If that wasn't enough, Conquest murdered Atom Eve in front of him and taunted after it.
Trust this writer when he says you'll never forget Conquest. He's easily one of Invincible's greatest enemies.
Voiced by: Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile)
8. Brit
Brit isn't one of the main characters and he isn't superhumanly strong. Thankfully, that doesn't stop him from being memorable. More importantly, his heroics and leadership helped protect Earth.
Brit (whose full name is Brittany) is an experienced hero, a phenomenal leader, invulnerable, and doesn't feel pain. Eventually, this leads to him being the leader of the Guardians of the Globe. While there, he may have become their best commander. Another thing to watch is how he defends Invincible. Cecil and others will talk badly about him, but Brit always sticks up for him.
Voiced by: Paul F. Tompkins (Bojack Horseman, Tangled)
7. Dinosaurus
Dinosaurus is an interesting character. His appearance will lead viewers to think he's a monster. However, he's closer to Sauron and Hank McCoy when he's in his dinosaur form. When he's Dinosaurus, he's a genius with the goal of protecting Earth. The problem is he's killed thousands in the process.
Dinosaurus believes killing some people to save more justifies what he's doing. This will have fans questioning whether or not he's right. Meanwhile, Mark ends up helping him. As the series continues, Dinosaurus and Mark work together. During that time, Invincible makes some questionable decisions. A lot of them lead to the deaths of an untold amount of people.
Voiced by: Phil Lamarr (Samurai Jack, Justice League) Ben Schwartz (human form)
6. Bulletproof
Despite being a hero in the Guardians of the Globe, Bulletproof is a jerk. He says and does questionable things throughout the series. He cheats on his girlfriend, doesn't seem to take the job seriously, and eventually works for someone that could be considered evil.
As the series continues, Bulletproof will become increasingly more annoying and deplorable. The problem is it isn't all his fault. His parents always treated him poorly and his brother experimented on him. It's easy to see how ended up this way, Nevertheless, his story ends with his face scarred. As sad as it is, Bulletproof admits he had it coming.
Voiced by: Daveed Diggs (Blindspotting, Hamilton)
5. Universa
Universa is an alien who came to Earth looking for power to help her planet. Instead of asking for assistance, she led with violence. With Atom Eve by his side, Invincible eventually took her down. This is only the beginning of their story. Thankfully, it has a happy ending.
Later, Invincible tries something new. Instead of punching people, he attempted to talk to his antagonists. He understood that not all problems need to include violence. Eventually, Mark finds a way to get Universa what she needs. This becomes one of Mark's greatest achievements. It also starts him on his darkest path while aiding Dinosaurus.
Voiced by: Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Dave)
4. Oliver
After Mark's father (Omni-Man) left Earth, he found a new planet for Viltrum. Instead of trying to rule the planet, he fell in love with one of the beings on that planet. They end up having a child. A baby boy that Debbie Grayson later named Oliver.
The older Oliver gets, the more unlikable he'll become. Oliver walks around as if he knows everything and, compared to him, everyone on Earth is an idiot. His narcissistic attitude gets him beaten and dismembered on a few occasions. In some ways, it's deserved.
It won't be shocking when the first episode of season 2 ends with Omni-Man telling Mark about Oliver. It's a great way to start the season and end the first episode.
Voiced by: Max Burkholder (The Purge) and (later) Lincoln Bodin (The Wake of Light)
3. Powerplex
Powerplex believes that Invincible does more harm than good. This is because his sister was one of the many casualties in Mark's fight with Omni-Man. That leads him to create a suit that can hurt and possibly kill Invincible.
In order to get his nemesis, Powerplex uses his wife and son as bait. When he finally meets Invincible, Powerplex accidentally kills his wife and son. Instead of learning his lesson, he blames Invincible for killing his family. Eventually, Mark gives Powerplex the harsh truth. This time, it wasn't on his head. Powerplex put his wife and son in harm's way.
Voiced by: Luke Macfarlane (Bros, Killjoys)
2. Anissa
Anissa is one of the few Viltrumites that have an important storyline. She was the first Viltrumite Mark encountered after his father leaves Earth. She tells him he has to prepare Earth to be taken over or someone else will. That is a small part of Anissa's story. The crucial part of her tale involves her hurting Mark almost beyond repair.
Invincible has a lot of adult subjects coming up. The one that happens between Anissa and Mark deserves a trigger warning. This writer won't say what happens, but she does something to him that's unforgivable. It's so bad that just seeing her makes Mark uncomfortable. Unfortunately, she's in his life forever. At least she becomes a better person.
Voiced by: Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law)
1. Thragg
If you think Omni-Man was something, wait until you meet Thragg. He's the Viltrumite's emperor and the strongest and most skilled of their race. He's a true believer in the empire and enforces the rule that only the strong should be allowed to live. He may seem like a base character, but you'll find out he's more than that.
Depending on when season 2 ends, Thragg may not have a big role. Nevertheless, when he finally appears, things will get intense and violent quickly. The Viltrumite War is a storyline is among the bloodiest in comics.
