Eddy and the Falcons is Wizzard’s second studio album. It has a concept based off of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band, wherein the album is presented as a live performance by a fictional band.
Its material tones down much of the heavy progressive elements featured on Wizzard Brew. The album and the fictional band that it features were likely named after Roy Wood’s first group in the early 60s, the Falcons.
It was originally planned as a 2LP release, with a second disc that featured a jazz-rock style and a drastically different sound than the first. When the label ask that Disc 1 be released on its own, the Disc 2 material was put on the heavily delayed Main Street.
