As the 2023 regular season quickly approaches, Inter Miami CF continues making the final moves to strengthen its squad with the signing of the Ukrainian international defender Sergii Kryvtsov. The strong center back, who won 17 titles in his 13-year-long spell with Shakhtar Donetsk and has competed in prestigious competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Euros, and the UEFA Nations League, showcased his excitement ahead of getting a new chapter in his career rolling.
“I’m thrilled to join a top club like Inter Miami and ready to get to work and make a difference in South Florida,” said Kryvtsov. “This team wants to achieve big things and I want to help it do that. I’m eager to get started and give everything on and off the pitch for the Club,” said Kryvstov.
“I really like how Inter Miami is building and how this team gets better every year. I think this is a great team and we want to compete to win trophies this year,” he added.
The Zaporizhia, Ukraine native then highlighted what he will bring to the team and stressed that the level of the league, as well as that of Inter Miami, will be higher than ever.
“I played in a lot of different strategies and know a lot about football. I think I can give this team some confidence… I know that MLS is getting better every year, and I think this season will be the strongest team Inter Miami has had.”
Enthused by the latest addition to the squad, head coach Phil Neville now expects the 31-year-old defender to bring his maturity to the team.
“When you talk to an experienced player, they just have a different feel than a young player. They know exactly what they want, they know exactly how to train, and they know exactly how to play. We hope that Sergii brings that experience to Inter Miami,” expressed Neville.
