Hi All, I will be traveling to Tokyo and HKG for 2 weeks - U.S Citizens. My nephew and I are both healthy but I wanted to ask if you think I should buy trip insurance for him (he is 14 yrs old) since it is now considered typhoon season? Thanks!

Good grief, I don't believe people actually travel abroad WITHOUT full travel insurance. HEALTHY, what on earth has that got to do with it, you won't be very healthy if you get run over (that nearly happened to me in Malaysia when some plonker jumped a red light), or any other 'unhealthy' incident which is no fault of your own.

You must be extremely rich or off your rocker to take such a chance each time you travel.

uh... some countries have reciprocal insurance, esp. within EU (though this is not the case for the original poster).

Maybe the nephew is already covered by the parent's insurance.
