Location: Located in the bustling neighborhood of Dadar, the heart of Mumbai, our college is easily accessible to students commuting from far off towns since Dadar is the only railway station common to both the Central and Western lines.
Computer Lab: Consists of 25 computers, connected on LAN to enable transfer between these terminals and the server which facilitates paperless assessments to take place.
Training Kitchen: All our training kitchens are equipped with the latest equipment needed to facilitate training for our students to be future chefs. We have three training kitchens in the institute.
Quantity Food Kitchen: This kitchen is used to train SEMESTER III / SEMESTER IV students in the Bsc. H&HA course. It mainly is used for bulk food production and services in the dining hall (students’ mess).
Individual Kitchen: This kitchen is used to train SEMESTER III / SEMESTER IV students in the BSc. H&HA course. It services the training restaurant, “Fusion” The Fusion: This formal fine dining restaurant can also sit approximately 100 pax for a meal. The individual training kitchen (ITK) provides for the menu to be served here.
The Graduate: This formal fine dining restaurant can sit approximately 100 pax for a meal. The advanced training kitchen provides for the menu to be served here.
Library: The institute also has a library of more than 5000 hospitality books and various journals and magazines which the students can refer to for the purpose of the study.

Both the girl's and boys' hostels are located on campus. Our boys’ hostel boasts of 45 well-furnished rooms which are usually given out on a triple sharing basis. The girls' hostel consists of 20 spacious rooms which are also given out on a triple sharing basis. We also have an NRI hostel for girls of 9 rooms for those who are admitted from the NRI quota. Rooms come equipped with a kitchenette.

Welcome to IHM Mumbai

Good Infrastructure. Professors had good hospitality knowledge. Regular Teaching to pass your exams with enough study material. Placements drive were great. Course fee was reasonable and decent. Positive atmosphere. Regular inputs to become good.

College used to take money if attendance criteria was not fulfilled. Used to take big donations 1k for 1percent. Hostels werent provided to all. Mess food wasnt that great. Similar students were selected again and again in the placement drive.

For eligibility you need to pass 12th exam with minimum 50% aggregate and have to score good marks in nchm jee. Application form can easily be found in nchn website. The entrance exam's take place once a year basically april or may. The admission procedure is quite good don't think any improvement is required.

Trying to become a good hospitality professional was the ultimate target. Every college encourages students to go for industrial training which makes us ready. I believe the theory subject's should be taught in a more professional manner to make it interesting. There were six semester's in total. 2 semester's in each year.

IHM Mumbai has one of the best faculty compared to any other catering colleges. All the professors are very friendly and go extra mile to help the students

Principal is a drug addict and take all the decisions when he is high. He ensures to make happy college life into living hell and he enjoys this
Attendance , it is mandatory to maintain 75 percent attendance and if not you will not be permitted to appear for exam . Even if you have valid reason for less attendance you won't be permitted

To enter in the college there is an exam called nchmct jee it is an online MCQ test of 200 questions r for right and -1 for wrong answer. .frankly this exam is not that difficult it take 1or maximum 2 weeks of study to crack the exam you need to get above 1000 rank for open to get in IHM Mumbai

First of all the vurivulam is dividen into four core subjects housekeeping, front office , kitchen, food and beverage sevices. Each exam has 3 hour for 60 marks this makes it look easy since we have always given exam of 80 marks in 3 hours but it is very difficult compared to other exam as unlike other exam you can not mug up things and go you have to be innovative and cunstruct your answer on the practical knowledge you have

Hotel minds

The faculty here is excellent and always cooperative towards any query raised by the students
The food production lab in college is quite big and the products made here is very good and the plating looks like 5 star restaurants

The college infrastructure us really old and they are not updating inspite of the students being here in so much
The college dosent have air conditioned room so its really difficult for continuing class

The eligibilty to the course is having a good nchm score if you are from general category , the reservation rank for Obc category starts around 1000 in round 1 and the application can be submitted online from nchm website the exam is around mid may and this year it 11th may so good luck guys , the difficult level is moderate and you can easily score below 500 if you practice and not study one month say atleast 1 hour each day and thats it you will strat a new carrier in your life ahead .the life here in mumbai is poplated but fancy in mumbai so if you want be excel in you carrer from mumbai you should only expect in food and beverage and food production.

The course helps us with four basic core subjects like food production , food and beverage , front office operation and , Rooms division and two extra ciricular subjects per semesster , the food among all these is vast as it contains the most vital part of the industry though the syllabus is very vast and interesting , the goverment should enroll more practical classes for the students as the class hours for the theory is more where as the industry give more importance to the practical knowledge acquired by the students , The exam schedule is great and the follow same sequence every year but the gap for study in between the in exams is very frequent or no.

The HUSTLE for IHM

Great and experienced faculty for teaching and explaining every expect of the industry
Practical are taken very seriously in order to train us for the industry

The infrastructure of the college is not up-to-date and the class room seats are not that much its very over populated
There are hardly 3 classrooms with AC for students and its really difficult after kitchen classes

The main criteria to enter in goverment IHM is to pass you 12th standard with english , and there is beasically no interveiws of GD to enter the college , the form for the registartion is in the nchm website which is around 500 ruppes . The SC reservation cutoff starts in mumbai around 2500-3000 for the first round which is around 400+ you are required to score in your NCHM jee , the level of exam is not that difficult you can try more focusing on logical deduction , english and maths which gives a good score easily and one can easily get preapred in 1-2 months time . The admission cutt off rounds takes a lot of time so its better if the simplify the process in terms of marks.

As i am interested in kitchen and wanna be a chefin future this college is a saviour for me as there is a lot of scope for getting in a corporate line and a great position in the industry, though the syllabus is quite extensive to complete as the new JNU. syllabus has been implemented its almost double of the IGNOU batch and i think think this will really help to in the internship which is comming ahead , the teachers are well preapred though they tend to finish the chapters in short using ppt and only focusing on previous year question paper. The exam frequency is too high as there is not study leave provided before the exam and the its too frequent.

HA better understanding

The college is well equipped with good quality furniture and benches and the class room size is big
The faculty is very helpful and they are always constantly trying to improve the students merit

Though the college is good but the infrastructure is very old school and not yet been updated
The sporting ground is not available it is is biggest regret for me which i didn't know before joining the course

The admission process was quite simple as i was aspiring for engineering which was much more difficult , you just need to get around or below 3000 rank if you belong to SC category to get selected in IHM mumbai in first round , the nchm form can be found in NCHM website and it barely takes 5 minutes to fill up the form . The exam is typically around 3 hours and the best scoring part is english , logical deduction and maths if you wanna get a good this are the areas you should focus more and you can be preapred within a months time after your 12th baords , as perosnally i feel the admision is very simplified by our college and it only took 30 mintues in a single visit to college and voola you are admitted.

I was always interested in food and beverage section from childhood as i wanna open my own business sector and manage it so i joined the course and this course Bsc in HHA really helps me in every aspect and it was my dream college as i am from maharashtra . The curriculum is extensive though one can easily finish if they do a little hard work ... as the result for the 1st year BSC sem 1 is published today and i score more than expected so i am very happy. The teachers moslty dont use and physical notes may be beacuse its will to time consuming for them to finsih the syallabus , the prepare interesting slides in ppt to teach the students and the exam they is always in hurry as the government provide too little time for them to complete the examination.

the environment of the collage including the staff and students is really supportive . They teach and motivate us to learn and grow in this industry . The batchmates i have are alos super motivated to be in higher positions in their career .
the equipment they provide us to teach the topic really feels very interactive . they let us do the practicals to give us an opportunity to learn . the interactive lectures help us to remember the things better and for greater period of time .

the collage has a pretty big campus but their is no proper ground to let the students play . this dosent let the students enjoy their student life .

the exam needed to give to enter into an IHM is NCHMCT-JEE this exam is based on general knowledge and bacis maths and science . we can find the application form in the official website of NCHMCT-JEE there we have to apply and regiester for the exam . their are reservation benifits but it depends on the collage's cut off . the exam can be cleared easily with basc study

the course has a lot of exiting and diffrent things to learn . this course is filled with students who has passion for cooking and food . the curriculum is really well set it helps the students the speed of real life and the exposure this collage gives is exponentional. the dificulty level of this course is not that high it has a lot of basic things . the course if perfect if someone has passion in this industry

The institutes consists of lot of modern techniques for education with great projectors and speakers
As i am interested in kitchen this college gives me perfect opportunity to showcase my strengths in my core areas

The infrastructure in this college in terms of building and furniture and the interface is quite old
The scope of sports activities is also very as mumbai being very over populated the college fails to provide any decent ground for the sports or functions to be organized

Anyone who is having 12th passing certificate with english in it eligible to get admitted and currently the goverment has removed the age limit so literally anyone can joing the course the application form for the NCHM jee can be found in the NCHM website and they exam takes place in may-april and the results get declared by june or july. The admission process starts from the month of july and the session starts from August . One can easily preapre for the NCHM in a months study and with little descriptive techniqures . The admission process in IHM mumbai was very simple but the for everything other thing you have to visit different as there is no stores for the colleges materials inside the campus

The course cirriculam is vast as compsred to previous years , realative in in 1st year Sem1 and Sem 2 we are completing almost the half of 2nd year combining though its gonn be helpful for us jn the real world industrial training which is ahead of us , as being from winter batch students they teachers have already given the pros and cons of the winter batch IT. There should be more practical knowlege of the cirriculm we are going throught as there is only one practical class going on in the year 1 and there is so vast syllabus to complete they should increase the practical classes. There is very less or no study time before the exams as they tend to finish the exam in real hurry PS , CONS of studying in GOV college

HONEST INSIGHTS

Updated teaching methods like using projectors and giving powerpoint slides to studies
Almost everymonth extracurricular activities are permformed and its very exicitng

Too much over populated class and its very difficult to capture the lecutres sometimes
The college campus needed to be reconstructed as its very old and also the class room is not very good looking from the asthetic point of views

The course required a 12th certificate with English in it and an aggregate of 50% along with your NCHM JEE rank the rank varies for Obc varies from 1500- 9000 in the fourth round last year the form can be found in the nchm website and exams usually takes place in the month of May and the application ranges from 500-1000 depending on reservation. The admission process is quite simplified and it only takes one day to physical visit to college to complete the admission. One can easily prepare for the nchm in a months time. However, it was a bit slow in Mumbai during the admission process as the faculty ratio is a lot less.

I was always more egaer to learn in practical field and interested in making my self more grommed and study plus work in around same environment and hotel management was perfect . The study material is a bit extensive and it almost contains the double of IGNOU though it a great opportunity to a lot more learning before the internship which is one of the most important thing for this industry . The teachers are great but as the time limit provided is so less that the teachers completes the syllabus in a shorter version .The study leave before the exams is very less and there no leaves in between so its almost like its going in hurry

The faculty of the college is very supportive and the staff is also well qualified and experienced that they never let any topic go off the track.
The campus have good social interaction as good number of events takes place in the campus on regular intervals which gives exposure to different co curricular skill of the students.

The infrastructure of the college is very poor as it hasn't been maintained on regular basis. The wall paint and the cement are falling off.
The decision of the administration are generally repulsive and which create a lot of chaos.

The eligibility criteria for the admission is he individual need to score above 50% in the 12th. The interested inmates can fill the form from nchmct official site which have a application fee of 1000. The application generally closes around 31 March and opens around mid to end of February. One must need to score a good rank at least around 1000 if he or she is from general category for the admission in the college. The admission process is not very complex and but there is always room for some improvement as the nchm takes a lot of time in releasing the seat allotment rounds. The exam difficulty is moderate and any person who have a little basic knowledge about the industry and have good common sense can easily crack the exam.

The curriculum has changed a lot after the replacement of IGNOU to JNU. The curriculum has been shifted more to managerial. This has led to introduction of new subjects such employability skills. The curriculum tries to directly connect us with the real world applications .The curriculum is needs a little improvement as it teaches us the more diversely for eg communicative English which is meant to be spoken English enhancement,instead they are teaching us the theory which are needed to be gulp up the whole information.
