Insidious: Chapter 3 isn't as terrifying as the original, although it boasts surprising thematic depth and is enlivened by another fine performance from Lin Shaye.

Colleen E I really enjoyed this movie! The first time around people got confused I heard before I went and seen it, I admit I did too! Being it didn't match with numbers 1 & 2 insidious movies! But it is to a point, due to the ghost busters team! But I really enjoy #3. I hope others enjoyed it too! I still rewatch it to this day!:-) I've watched all of the insidious movies, I of course enjoy and like them all. #2 I feel is one of the other good ones too! I think they all have their sense and feelings of spooks and them creepy that you yourself wouldn't want to go through it! Or would you;-D I hope some more are made and made spookier as they move along! But I do wonder if there'll be anymore insidious movies!? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review Guy P Not as scary as the original, tries to expand the world beyond the original family and tell Elise's story but poor acting on the main character's part makes this feel more like a B horror movie than a AAA title. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/21/23 Full Review Cayden P Personally, didn't enjoy it. Makes me worry for the series. 2.5/5 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review C C This movie takes everything established by the first two insidious movies and rewrites the rules to fit the script. The "scares" are not scary, and the emotional parts fall completely flat. Absolute waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/23 Full Review matthias s "Insidious: Chapter 3" is a delightful addition to the chilling franchise that has kept audiences on the edge of their seats for years. While it may not reach the same terrifying heights as the first one, this third installment manages to deliver a decent threequel that will still make you jump out of your seat. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Gorptholemew T 🍀 4.0/10 Much more scarier than 2 and just I bit better but not by much there is more emotion that won't make you cry but still a nice more personal feel all though it's much more shallow for original ideas to add in the series like the second one did I guess the argument could be made that this is a prequel and it's the origin still a meh chapter for the series. Lenika Cruz The Atlantic As middling, somewhat serviceable horror fare, it delivers its own share of jump scares, but whatever visceral effect it might have had wears off the instant the credits begin to roll. Jan 21, 2016 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald Whannell does a creditable job with the film. He's not as bold as Wan about mounting a sequence, but he's no slouch about the psychology of screen horror. Rated: 3/5 Jul 16, 2015 Full Review Ben Sachs Chicago Reader The quiet stretches actually serve their purpose here, creating a sense of intimacy with the characters as opposed to simply marking time between the shocks. Jun 11, 2015 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Much like the Saw or Paranormal Activity franchises, the stories have run out but the filmmakers cannot resist making another sequel.
