Fake Formula
As another reviewer pointed out, Ink Master is totally inconsistent with the judging. This has always been the case.
One guy is put on the bottom for something another artist does the same. Then whenever a popular artist turns in a horrible tattoo, they go to his or her "report card" in order to pass the bad tattoo artist to the next round, and to eliminate a less popular artist who did a better tattoo.
In the 2020 Covid season that ended without a winner, they even added "pardons" which turned the who contest into a bigger joke. Jerrell Larkins lost, and then Nunez crawled over to the stall and offered him a pardon, which looked really sleazy and creepy.
I stopped believing in the integrity of the judging a long time ago. All of these characters are on the show to promote their brand, and it has gradually become all about marketing for everyone, especially the new judges. Very fake people.
Every season, they select a small group of 5-6 top artists. I would not be surprised if they pay to be on the show, and pay to win Ink Master. The other 10 - 15 lesser known artists are just on the show to lose. They have no chance.
