Thinking of leasing a Infiniti QX50?

The U.S. News Best Price Program saves users an average of $1,824 off the MSRP, and a lower price equals lower monthly lease payments. That means you could see a savings of $90 a month on a 36-month lease.

Drive and Performance 5.6/10

It's not exactly thrilling to drive, but the 2024 Infiniti QX50 does a good job of cushioning passengers over rough and bumpy surfaces. There's little body lean through corners, and the brakes bring it to a quick and full stop at high speeds. That said, the steering doesn't provide much feedback, and the brakes can be touchy at lower speeds.

Each QX50 trim features the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with variable compression that makes 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This engine gets you moving easily off the line and provides ample power for passing on the freeway. However, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) emits a loud and off-putting sound when shifting, keeping the Infiniti from providing a truly luxurious experience.

Fuel Economy 9.0/10

The 2024 QX50 gets good fuel economy estimates for the luxury compact SUV segment. Models with front-wheel drive return an EPA-estimated 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. With all-wheel drive, estimates dip slightly to 22/28 mpg city/highway.

Interior 7.2/10

The QX50's interior is nice enough, though it doesn't really stand out compared to rivals. A confusing infotainment system also distracts from the overall ambience. This Infiniti seats up to five people, and adults should feel comfortable in both rows thanks to decent head- and legroom. The second-row seats are not as plush as those upfront, but they're still accommodating.

For stowing cargo, there's 31.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 65.1 cubic feet with these seats folded down. These are generous figures for a luxury compact SUV. A power liftgate comes standard, while a hands-free liftgate is available.

Value 8.3/10

The 2024 Infiniti QX50 has a good value rating for the luxury compact SUV class. We determine value based on the vehicle's estimated total cost of ownership, along with the vehicle's MSRP for its base and top trims.

Safety 9.0/10

The 2024 QX50 gets mostly good safety scores from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This Infiniti also comes with lots of standard safety features that include blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

For installing child safety seats, there are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the QX50's rear outboard seats and a tether anchor for the rear middle seat.

Quality and Reliability 82.0/100

The 2024 Infiniti QX50 does not have a predicted reliability score at the time of writing.

Critics’ Rating 5.3/10

The 2024 Infiniti QX50 receives a critics' rating that is below average for the class. This rating, which is driven by our qualitative research, represents the overall tone and recommendation level that the automotive press places on a car.

How Much Is a 2024 Infiniti QX50?

The 2024 Infiniti QX50 has a starting MSRP of $41,000 for the base Pure trim, which comes with standard features like synthetic leather upholstery and wireless device charging. The Luxe trim starts at $44,300 and adds niceties such as genuine leather upholstery, heated front seats and a panoramic moonroof. The Sport trim's price jumps to $49,200, and this trim gains ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo and a surround-view camera system, among other features. For $53,500, the Sensory trim comes with all of the standard niceties from the Luxe model, plus a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated rear seats and a head-up display. Finally, the range-topping Autograph ($58,050) has all of the Sensory trim's features, along with all-wheel drive, quilted semi-aniline leather upholstery and tri-zone automatic climate control.

Which Is the Best Infiniti QX50 Model to Buy?

We recommend the base Pure trim. This model has the same power output as the rest of the lineup, along with plenty of standard features for the price. You also get the same touch screens you'll find on higher trims, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring and more.

Is the 2024 Infiniti QX50 a Good SUV?

Yes, the 2024 QX50 is a good luxury compact SUV. Both rows treat passengers to a soft, supple ride in comfortable, spacious seats. The cargo hold is generous, and the interior is comprised of well-styled, high-quality materials. Good fuel economy is a bonus. Its main drawbacks include a frustrating infotainment system and a noisy continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Before committing to the QX50, you may want to check out some of its more impressive competitors. For top-tier performance and a more modern infotainment system, the BMW X3 is a solid choice and one of the top-ranked vehicles in this class. If a luxe interior is less important than maximizing your savings, the Buick Envision is an excellent value option with a much lower base price than the QX50 and excellent fuel economy.

2024 Infiniti QX50 Versus the Competition

Infiniti QX50 vs. Audi Q5

Like the QX50, the Audi Q5 is a comfortable luxury compact SUV that offers a gentle ride and good fuel economy. The QX50 has the upper hand when it comes to maximum cargo space, and its base engine is more potent than the Q5's. However, the Q5 has standard all-wheel drive and peppier engine options that all outperform the Infiniti's lone power plant. The infotainment system is also more intuitive and user-friendly than the QX50's. For more storage space and interior comfort, the Infiniti is the better choice. For better tech and performance (on higher trims), go with the Audi.

Infiniti QX50 vs. Acura RDX

For a similar price, the Acura RDX is more engaging to drive than the QX50, with sportier handling and faster acceleration. Its infotainment system may be no less bothersome than the QX50's, but its more refined powertrain, high safety score and posh interior make the RDX the better choice overall.

Specs and Features

The QX50 features a somewhat confusing infotainment system with dual center displays. An 8-inch touch screen sits above a 7-inch touch screen, and a center console rotary knob functions for the top screen only. Getting used to the layout takes time. Also, the graphics are dated, and inputs can be slow to respond.

  • Additional standard features: dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start and proximity keyless entry
  • Other available features: a panoramic moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control and ambient interior lighting
