Random thought but MJ impersonators are kinda crazy

Discussion

Jason Malachi gotta be the craziest one for me because his voice is almost identical to Michaels. Like how šŸ˜

I think it's very weird when they have surgeries to look like MJ.

You're basically living you life as a bad copy of somebody else, especially somebody who wished he wasn't himself most of the time.

Guys like Fabio Jackson and Michael Jackton make me cringe.

Yeah smth about them is unsettling, especially Fabio

He's racist

Yes he did. He even has photos showing such and his face bandaged and before and after photos. Then he lies and says he was born like that. Itā€™s bullshit.

thanks for telling me

idk why i kinda felt bad for him at first dude's a fuckin weirdo

He used to live in my town. When I first saw him in Nandoā€™s I did a double triple take. Iā€™ve got to say, it doesnā€™t look like heā€™s heā€™s any work done up close, but Iā€™ve no idea for sure.

Michael Trapson too

u/TheKilmerman avatar

Not my thing, but Trapson at least does something creative with Michael's stuff. I think Michael would have liked it.

Fabio is so weird. Like I see him run around looking at street performers like he's the real MJ and they're copying him.

u/rizzo1987 avatar

Yes! That video is so cringe. ā€œI love it when people do this.ā€ Yeah, dude. Itā€™s the same thing youā€™re doing, except theyā€™re actually dancing and being entertaining.

u/TheKilmerman avatar

The weirdest thing is when he claims that he didn't have any work done to look like MJ.

Like, dude. There's pics of you from a couple of years ago where you went super hardcore on the MJ-nose and it was totally botched.

Fabioā€™s feed is just him doing mundane stuff while moonwalking while jackton acts as if heā€™s MJ bought back to lifeĀ

Fabio acts as if heā€™s Michael reincarnated as well. Itā€™s why I dislike him so much. Like dude really watches impersonators with this like airiness about him, as if theyā€™re impersonating Him and not Michael fucking Jackson

Maybe Michael wouldā€™ve liked it, I do not šŸ˜

I donā€™t think Michael wouldā€™ve liked it either. Because itā€™s Fabio isnā€™t true to himself and it shows.

Trapson is just a comedian though, most of his impersonations of Michael are skits and just for laughs. A lot of MJ impersonators go to the depths of getting surgery to look like him and itā€™s weird

u/thisisn0teasy avatar

I love Michael Trapson though! He adds his own touches to it! like his song ā€œBillie Jean and I dabā€ is really original, but still keeping some elements of Billie Jean. Fabio is a lil much though, like heā€™s trying his absolute hardest to be a carbon copy of Mike.

The fact that streaming services had to remove tracks from the Michael album legit proves that the original release seemed foolproof to anyone. Crazy.

I despise Fabio Jackson. I was trolling him on one of his TikTok lives once, and I commented ā€œyouā€™ll never be Michaelā€. He got so upset he told me to kill myself, and like half his supporters in the stream were like ā€œoh my god, you surprised me, how can you tell someone to kill themselvesā€ etc etc. Because they apparently thought he was so Michael like. It was quite the highlight.

Fabio fans support him more than they support Michael. I saw one comment with like 50k likes that defended him saying Fabio was born the way Michael wanted to look like

Yeah, I think itā€™s some sort of fetish for people like that. Itā€™s disgusting.

u/Averybizz avatar

I saw one saying Fabio danced better than MJ himself! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

They mustā€™ve be high on pcp.

I respect the fact that people pay homage and keep his memory alive but I do find it weird that many impersonators will change their entire look to look like Michael and even act and dress like Michael in their everyday lives. There has to be a line drawn in the sand somewhere

fr because i feel like ppl like fabio just subconsciously start believing they are ACTUALLY Michael Jackson and start losing yourself. Itā€™s really cringe tbh

u/Budget_Translator873 avatar

Thatā€™s why it is important to have your own identity even as a fan.

Highest level of cringe

Navi the MJ impersonator picked my friends and I up at the airport after we arrived back to the UK from the MSG shows in NYC.

He offered to drive each of us home in his people carrier. Was very sweet of him, however, I got lost and couldnā€™t remember how to get to my house! We ended up stopping at a garage to ask for directions ā€” itā€™s at this point that I should mention he was wearing MJ shades, a long coat and a fedora šŸ˜‚

A group of drunk lads saw him get out of the van and lost their minds. I often wonder if they told people about the night Michael Jackson asked them for directions to Peckham Rye šŸ˜‚

Oh my god it sounds like his whole personality is MJ

They can replicate how he spoke all they want, but never how he sang :(

The one that was falsely claiming to be his illegitimate son used to piss me off

ā€¢

Most of them make me cringe. They think theyā€™re like reincarnation of MJ and itā€™s baffling.

To be fair, I like some MJ impersonators. Iā€™ve talked to some and they knew they werenā€™t actually Michael Jackson, they were just having fun and so were the fans. We all gathered around celebrating this manā€™s legacy, singing his music, and dancing and it was nothing more to it than that. One of my green flags for impersonators is how some of them will always put the attention back onto Michael and talk about not just his music but his charity work and his humanity. MJ is one of the most impersonated celebrities for a reason, people want to remember and honor his legacy and that is okay.

However, there are probably a group of MJ impersonators that probably do think they are MJā€¦ I think Fabio is one of these impersonators bc he stated in a live that his wife called him Michael in bed šŸ§šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø likeā€¦ wtf. Iā€™ve never seen this man actually be himself? So much of his mannerisms like the way he laughs down to his style are an imitation of MJ word for word, bar for bar. Like itā€™s one thing to pull style inspiration from a celebrity, so many people do, but copying oneā€™s mannerisms??? Getting plastic surgery to look exactly like them? Itā€™s just so weird to me.

yeah when they start acting like michael jackson day to day and copying his mannerisms, it gets really cringe fast

If someoneā€™s dedicating their life to act like someone else itā€™s cringe. Michael impersonates have always been and will always be cringey as fuck. I genuinely feel second hand embarrassment when I see an impersonator of anyone.

Jason's voice is good but some people keep saying he sounds nothing like him?

u/Mzs11 avatar

He sounds like him but itā€™s different enough to tell itā€™s not Michael, thatā€™s how they got busted for those fake tracksšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I know, nobody is denying that there aren't differences

Tones are differentā€¦

Doesn't mean they sound nothing alike tho, plus nobody is saying they sound exactly the same

u/cujo_frank avatar

Thats was my point. They donā€™t really sound identical. Even pronounce words differently. The fact that there were some who listened to him and thought he was Mike was very telling, at least to me.

Because Jason sounds nothing like him. Adding in MJ ad libs and autotuning all of Michael to sound like the Jason vocals is cheating

He does though, there are ways to tell he's not michael but he definitely sounds similar

More replies

I donā€™t know why people say that. You can clearly tell itā€™s not Michael but their falsettos are almost identical to me.

Yeah exactly, like I'm not a fan of his vibrato but he clearly sounds a lot like michael

Speaking of, I recently heard about the doc The Three Michaels. Anyone know where I can watch?

I see people like Fabio make me cringe sm.

Someone like Sebastian Suarez should be getting more attention; the dude can SING.

u/Averybizz avatar

In one of Fabioā€™s videos he is dancing to tdcau and a comment literally said he dances better than MJ. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Theyā€™re probably serious which is the sad part

u/Averybizz avatar

Probably all kids who have never actually seen MJ dance.

Word.

(Also, unrelated, but I keep reading Jasonā€™s last name as ā€œmuh-lah-cheeā€ instead of ā€œma-luh-kaiā€, which I think is the correct pronunciation šŸ˜…)

u/TimesInPerspective37 avatar

I find it rather ironic many of the better soundalikes are those with more stocky physiques like Jason Malachi, Jean Walker and Weeknd. I never understood why people say they sound "almost identical" to MJ when there are very important discrepancies in their voices.

As for dancers/performing impersonators, I don't have much thought for E'Casanova, Earnest Valentino or Edward Moss. They're human with their own issues but I don't have much respect for them. Take it with a grain of salt but I heard of the E'Casanova harassment allegations well before Trapson made his claims - Damien Shields actually told me many years before. Earnest doesn't sing live but has one of his background singers sing for him. I can't remember all the details, but there was also some controversy involving female fans in his hotel and also cancelling a concert much to the dismay of concert organizers at the time (MJJC Facebook page actually warned fans about Earnest at the time). Edward Moss was notorious for being used for parodies and reinforcing the wacko jacko image in movies, but acted like he was the biggest fan after his passing - he also can't sing live and asked Michael Firestone to record songs for him to pretend he is singing live.
