Reviews
- Edited 12 years agoThis is a largely horrible collection of songs by the resurrected Nico. The only tracks that somewhat hark back to what she was capable of is "Saeta", and the two live songs (where she sounds great), otherwise it's underwhelming performances by a decidedly shaky Nico drowned out by her hapless 80s backing band (comprised of many Manchester indie pop celebrities all keen for a bit of VU kudos). The bonus interviews are probably the highlight of the whole album. If you want to hear Nico at her best, listen to "Desertshore", "Desertshore Demos" (bootleg), "The Marble Index", "The Peel Sessions" or the few good songs on "Chelsea Girl" and "The End".
