Lauren Carroll Harris Guardian I Love Dick carries on Transparent's search for new forms of queer, feminist, long-form storytelling. Jul 30, 2019 Full Review Debi Enker The Age (Australia) The series' style is gleefully unconstrained by traditional TV storytelling conventions. At times, with its jarring segues, abrupt inserts and deliberately intrusive music, it's closer to an experimental film than any half-hour comedy series. Nov 6, 2018 Full Review Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald There's some heavy stuff there, but also a lot of humour. And as much as the series merrily skewers the pretentiousness of the art world, it resolutely reaffirms the importance of art. A must-see. Mar 29, 2018 Full Review George Fenwick Stuff.co.nz It should also go without saying that Hahn, as ever, is a revelation. Nov 30, 2021 Full Review Tessa Brown Hyperallergic A masterpiece of female vision and artistic agency. It's also fun as hell. Feb 7, 2020 Full Review Li Lai Mediaversity Reviews Ostensibly a love letter to a grizzled cowboy, I Love Dick is actually an ode to women everywhere. StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 8 episodes of a single season series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/23/23 Full Review Jolyn W Maybe challenging for the sexually repressed, the feminist proclamation and sometimes very awkward celebration of female sexuality is still loud and clear. Love is also given its due, though. Popular, big bucks, contemporary and pretentious art is treated to a thorough barbecue, while the true heart of art — Devon's creation, Chris's writing and Paula's curation of great art by women — is recognized in joy, beauty and awe. Marriage is presented as the complicated social contract that it is, including Chris's (Hahn's) frustrated and obsessive spin out on Dick (Bacon) and incomprehensible ongoing dialogue with husband, Silvere. Devon, Chris and Dick will mesmerize, but if you love a neat and tidy plot with an easily comprehended resolution, you won't get those here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/25/23 Full Review tom m Reasonably entertaining. I like Kathryn Hahn. She did another good job with this. 8 ~30 minutes shows … so not a huge investment of time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member One true surprise for me, just brilliant. Saw it twice and will come back as long as it stays on primevide.com. Art, coming to age, Jewish, love, hate, despair, forgotten small town in the middle of nowhere, social media, brilliant acting, huge stars, etc., You name it. Everything is here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Reminds me of Twin Peaks, where there is a story that never gets told, and instead you are treated to a procession of weird characters. There are multiple sex and nude scenes, so you might watch it for that while trying to figure out how it ends and why on earth is it going there. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review steve d As uncomfortable and unfunny as its name suggests. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
