Hyacinthe Gabrielle Roland was born in 1766 at Paris, France, the daughter of a Mr Fagan and Hyacinthe Gabrielle Varis. A dancer at the Palais Royale, she met and had a long term affair with Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquess Wellesley of Norragh, finally marrying on 29 November 1794 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London. She died on 5 or 7 November 1816[1] at Mr. Littleton's House, Teddesley, and was buried on 14 November 1816 at Penkridge, Staffordshire, England.
Daughter of Hyacinthe Varis and the Chevalier Fagan; her guardian was a Mr Roland.[2] Other sources give her father as Pierre Roland.[3]
