CUNY Hunter College Reviews
Rating 3.54 out of 5 2,448 reviews
My overall experience at Hunter College has been transformative. The academic programs here are rigorous and provided me with invaluable knowledge and skills that I will carry with me throughout life. Hunter College has a vibrant campus community, that unfortunately I did not take advantage of in my first year. It was particularly hard to find friends, but with time I was able to foster a sense of belonging. So far, every moment at Hunter College has been enriching and allowed me to form connections with my peers, advisors, and professors.
I have received the most rigid, captivating, amazing, and extraordinary education at Hunter College. There is no place like it. Hunter College has a plethora of innovative classes to choose from in every academic department. In its biology courses, they have a class on HIV, cancer progression, and tons of classes on the human brain. The English department has classes dedicated to the most respected and brilliant writers of America, like Tony Morrison, James Baldwin, Emily Dickinson, and Ernest Hemingway. I personally took one of the most amazing classes at Hunter, I loved my Clinical Psychology course. There is no doubt that a student will receive the best education at Hunter College. The most important entertainers and government leaders have come to Hunter College, like Hillary Clinton who came at a few commencement ceremonies. Bill de Blasio has visited a few times as well as Lin-Manuel Miranda. Dr. Martin Luther King, sadly, delivered his last speech at Hunter College.
My experience as a transfer student to Hunter has been great. I think all the professors are amazing and are always helpful. I would like to see the office of financial aid and the human biology department to be a bit more organized- i think that would be my only criticism. Otherwise, great school
