It definitely wasn't what fans were used to from a Hulk and Wolverine fight. It set the stage so well that the book's delays infuriated everyone who wanted to see what would happen next.

1 "Old Man Logan" Ended With Logan Eliminating The Hulk Gang

Marvel Comics' Old Man Logan ripping out of the Hulk torso.

"Old Man Logan," by writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven, is a must-read for Marvel fans. The alternate future tale focused on a pacifist Logan going on a mission with Hawkeye to get enough money to pay off the Hulk Gang. After Logan came home to a dead family, he threw his more peaceful approach out the window.

Logan set out to take apart the Hulk Gang, and he executed that plan in a literal sense. Finally, Logan battled Banner himself, but the fight was short-lived. Not long after Banner ate Logan, the mutant began healing himself and ripped through the Hulk's stomach, killing him. It was a completely unexpected way to end a Hulk and Wolverine fight, and the comic was better for it.
