While rumors suggested that David Beckham wanted to have Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at Inter Miami, another American club owner wishes he join the MLS sooner but not in Miami. Luis Mateus, owner of the American club Rockford Raptors, talked about his dream to see Ronaldo arrive in the United States and play in the MLS. Mateus said, "I would like Cristiano Ronaldo to come to the United States. I have always said that Ronaldo will end up in the United States and I saw him settle here in Portugal, but I hope he does. If Ronaldo comes to Boston or goes to Los Angeles, the MLS will do something incredible. I've always loved Ronaldo."

While Boston doesn't have a club in the MLS, Los Angeles has two that may consider be a great choice for Ronaldo. LA Galaxy is arguably the biggest club in the MLS since they have five MLS Cup titles, the most of any MLS club in history. Their last MLS Cup was in 2014, but the club has made star signings like David Beckham, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Los Angeles' newest club, LAFC, was founded in 2014, and its first MLS game was in 2018. It has become one of the strongest clubs in the MLS, as its recent success shows. LAFC won the MLS Cup in 2022 and was in the 2023 MLS Cup final. The club is no stranger when it comes to signing marquee signings like Carlos Vela and recently former World Cup champion Hugo Lloris. Ronaldo may want to continue creating history for the club in the MLS instead of playing along with Messi at Inter Miami.

What is next for Messi and Ronaldo?

Messi and Inter Miami start training for their next MLS match at home in the Chase Stadium. The team will receive the New York Red Bulls, who are third in the Eastern Conference with 17 points, while Miami is first with 21 points.

Ronaldo and Al Nassr will play against Al Khaleej in the King's Cup semi-final at home in the Al Awal Park. If Ronaldo and Al Nassr advance to the final, they could face either Al Ittihad or their rivals Al Hilal.
