EPL: Hugo Lloris Doubtful For North London Derby

Tottenham might play without Hugo Lloris for the North London derby for the English Premier League tie at Arsenal in October as the goalie picked up an injury in France.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper had an impressive outing for Spurs during the team’s 6-2 win over Leicester last Saturday.

Lloris, after the game, then joined the French national team on Monday for the Nations League fixtures with Austria and Denmark but has since left their camp in Clairefontaine.

He sustained an injury to his right thigh when he arrived in France, a development which will worry Spurs boss Antonio Conte as he looks forward to a trip to Arsenal on October 1.

“Arriving on Monday morning at the National Football Centre in Clairefontaine, Hugo Lloris consulted Dr Franck Le Gall,” a statement from the French Football Federation read.

“A small injury to the right thigh has been diagnosed for the Tottenham goalkeeper.

“He is therefore unavailable for the two matches against Austria on Thursday at the Stade de France and in Denmark on Sunday,” he stated.

Lloris is now the second Tottenham player this international break to pull out of international duty after Ben Davies was also forced to withdraw from the Wales squad following an injury to his knee. Davies also faces a race against time to be fit to face Arsenal.
