Hugh Grant reveals he’s considering ‘shocking’ career change

Hugh Grant has revealed he is considering a career change by swapping acting for politics.

The Love Actually star, famed for playing his prime minister role in the romantic comedy, said “switching to politics has crossed his mind”.

The 63-year-old said his mother-in-law Susanne Eberstein, who is a former member of the Riksdag party within the Swedish parliament, has repeatedly tried to ward him off of a political career.

Grant told Entertainment Weekly: “Whenever the subject comes up, she just says, ‘Don’t you have to water down everything? It’s all horse-trading. And nowadays the incoming abuse is unthinkable’.”
