      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are charming together, but they can't overcome How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' silly premise and predictable script.

Brian D 72%. Got distracted for a quarter of the move in the middle but cute to see it start off as them trying to get rid of each other and then eventually falling for one antoher Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Hargie M Romcom excellence of the 2000s! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Gigs V A very easy watch, and great concept. The inevitable romance doesn't feel ham-fisted. These two genuinely seem to have great chemistry. I like that there is a sense of realism towards the end in regards to Hudson's character and her boss. Feels real without feeling too heavy or depressing. Definitely something I can see myself watching in the future, at Xmas/if in need of a feel-good film. Empire Magazine Rated: 3/5 Nov 2, 2003 Full Review Alexander Walker London Evening Standard She plays the ninny and the harpy, the baby doll and the ball breaker. It's Kate Hudson's film all right, but this actress is a cold squeeze, not well photographed either, and has the worst hairdo on the East Side. Apr 19, 2003 Full Review Nev Pierce BBC.com Fun, funny, Chick Lit-style chortler. Rated: 3/5 Mar 23, 2003 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Starring the exuberantly effervescent Kate Hudson and one of Hollywood's sexiest and most eligible bachelors, Matthew McConaughey, How to Lose has all the makings of a classic romantic comedy. Nov 13, 2019 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Along with a terrible ending, there's also a numerous range of plot inconsistencies that insult the audiences intelligence. Mar 25, 2014 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures The biggest problem I had with this film was the set-up and premise. It works on paper, but most of the movie is spent with the characters being simply awful. Rated: 2/5 Mar 2, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews
