Gandy Dancer Theater and Conference Center

Nice place for a fun evening. Very nice building with ample parking. Personnel are all personable and professional. I was surprised to see our placemats were printed with the last name on the reservation. Everyone has a designated table. The meal was better than I expected. No menu, but everything was good. The performances were also very good. Some singer impersonators were excellent, others only OK. All the music was live and very good. Only weak spot was a comedian in overalls that wasn't very funny & a bit hard to understand. Also wish they had a beer & wine license. Overall, we had a great time and found ourselves clapping & singing along with songs we love.

We saw a murder mystery show on older women. Unfortunately it was horrible. No one seemed to have a script to follow. It felt like a night of improv. There were no microphones (so it was difficult to hear the dialogue) and It felt more like a group of 5th graders putting on a play. That said, the concept of a dinner theater, with REAL entertainment would be enjoyable. Therefore I am giving this 4 stars instead of the 3 it deserves, because I look forward to visiting again for their singing shows. NEVER again for a Murder Mystery. The theater is attached to a Western Steer (like a Golden Corral with better food) and the food served was very similar. Just glorified cafeteria food. No alcohol is served.

We had a great time at the Gandy Dancer while on a road trip through West Virginia. The show was done in good fun. A small group of actors wore different wigs for each act they were performing. The first half of the night was for country acts, pop and rock was in the second half. The singing was amazingly good and the band was great. In between acts, there was a comedian making corny jokes and her act was really funny. We came away from the evening happy that the show was so good.

The food was OK, about what you would expect for a dinner theater. We were served at our table by friendly servers.

We went to Elkins to see the show the 1st time because our friend was filling in for one of the regular band members! I wasn't expecting much from a little show in a rural mountain town! But to my surprise & delight it was a Great Show, lots of musical talent and very entertaining! Just went back for the 2nd time with a group from our church, saw the same show again and enjoyed ourselves just as much. Food was very good , service was excellent and servers were very friendly! We will be back again for the Christmas Show! We stayed overnight at the Wyndham, hotel was very nice!

Not only was my food good the show was fabulous! The costumes were beautiful, the singers had powerful but beautiful voices and the musicians were outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit to the Gandy Dancer!

What an enjoyable evening! If you are in Elkins, WV, don't just go out to dinner - GO HERE and be thoroughly entertained for two hours with great singers, dancers and musicians. Family friendly, patriotic, inspirational and mesmerizing with the constant costume changes, talent, variety and audience participation. We came to Elkins to ride the steam trains and happened upon this dinner show and are so very glad we did. We will return (with our whole family)!
