Our rooms were very clean at check in but we did not ask for our rooms to be cleaned after that. We only asked for clean towels and the housekeeping staff were gracious in giving us the amount we requested.
We enjoyed the evening reception (provided 7 nights a week/4:00-7:00 p.m.)held in the lobby one evening. That night they had complimentary chicken wings, chips with artichoke dip and cubed cheese......all hot and very tasty! There was also an acoustic guitar player in the lobby providing very nice music (low volume). The morning breakfast was very well presented as well.....one morning they ran out of bacon - no big deal!
This hotel is located a 10 minute walk from all the action on Broadway. Super location!
I would 100% stay and recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a hotel while visiting downtown Nashville!
We stayed five nights and spent about 2000 bucks for the room and valet.
NOISY NOISY. The construction literally outside or window. There was constant slamming of doors down the hall literally shook our walls all day and night. The housekeeping staff were not attentive. We stayed 5 nights the room was NOT vacuumed a single time (and we tipped each day) Teetering microwave, failure to stock complete towels or even wash the bathroom floor. The bathroom door was rotting at the bottom. This looked like blood on the door of the room that was never cleaned for our entire trip. They claimed it was fully booked. The ice machines were shut. We had to go up or down a floor for ice. "Sorry for the inconvenience." Valet parking were terrific and nice but they had only about 75 feet of driveway space. It was a constant and slow maneuver - they did a great job but waiting was terrible.
That's how I felt after an attempt to reserve two rooms for my wife and I and another couple for a Thursday, Friday and Saturday in May 2020. I called the hotel directly for booking to be sure to get all of my earned Priority Club Reward benefits. When the clerk was reading me the long list of charges and fees I asked what is the "service fee" for. "Oh that is for your amenities". And, what amenities are those, I asked. "That would be your free breakfast and free Wi-Fi". Hmmmmm doesn't sound too free to me? So, she goes on with her spiel and I ask what about free parking? No, she says, "the parking is an extra $35 per night". "So, the room is $217 plus $16.35 service fee plus $35.68 in taxes and $35 for parking which is $304.03 per night", I ask? If that is correct, I continue, " why is the total for three days $1003.42?; that's almost $335 per night not even close to the $217 you quoted me?" She replied, there is a $30 per night extra on Friday and Saturday and the parking is $42 per night on weekends. Wow, that's over $117 per night in extras! So, I told her I wasn't interested and would book elsewhere (the Best Western Plus down the street charges $30 a night more but does actually have free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and free parking, so net, it is about $90 per night less). Her answer was that I cannot cancel my room because when I gave my rewards card number the credit card is attached to it and the room is automatically charged and it is non refundable. Can you imagine?! What a scam!! I asked to talk to a manager and she hung up. After about two hours talking to the Holiday Inn Customer Service rep, the best he could do was cancel that room and sell me a weekend package for $908.25. Granted, that is a little bit better than $1003.42, but, next time I'll steer clear of Holiday Inn Express altogether. With a loyalty program like that, there is no need to stand in line for two hours to buy a punch in the face for 90% off. Beware of a whole litany of extra charges at this property.
Don't hesitate to book here.
We will be staying here again!!!
Minus points - ice machines broken on all floors didn’t get repaired whilst we were there.
Our bedroom had a broken blind from before we arrived which didn’t get repaired and also the laundrette was broken again reported but not repaired. Not sure if it was a case of they couldn’t get the parts tho.
Hotel is situated at one end of broadway so walkable to bars on broadway (yes there’s a hill to climb but it’s fine I’m disabled and managed it slowly with stops) there’s a convenience store and whole foods the other direction altho the hotel sells food you can microwave if you want it - it’s cheaper to go to whole foods and grab some salad and fresh fruits. We enjoyed the stay and would stay at that hotel again if we were in Nashville as the staff were lovely.
We had to be moved 2x when we arrived due to toilet issues, otherwise it was fine. Bathroom is fairly small. Housekeeping doesn't enter during your stay.
I would've liked to see the toilet marked sanitized and the remote control sanitized and bagged but it wasn't. There was zero paper or hotel information in the room.
