How to Destroy Angels

About How to Destroy Angels

The name taken from Coil’s debut 1984 EP, How To Destroy Angels is the side project of Trent Reznor and features fellow NIN member and collaborator Atticus Ross, former NIN art director Rob Sheridan and Mariqueen Maandig-Reznor (formerly of the band West Indian Girl). On the 2013 live tour, the band was joined by NIN collaborator Alessandro Cortini who also performed on “We Fade Away” on 2013’s Welcome Oblivion.

After Trent’s original hiatus from making NIN material in 2009, HTDA has released 2 EPs (a self-titled debut in 2010 and “An Omen” in 2012) and a debut studio album “Welcome Oblivion” in 2013 as well as a cover of Bryan Ferry’s “Is Your Love Strong Enough?” for Trent and Atticus' score of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” in 2011.

Since then, the project has been on hiatus since Trent revived Nine Inch Nails in 2013 for the album Hesitation Marks. Material from the project has been played live by Nine Inch Nails in recent years, with Mariqueen making several surprise appearances at certain NIN shows.
