Bryan Brown meets his newborn grandchild for the first time - as his daughter Matilda reveals the actor stayed by her side 'for the entire birth'
Matilda Brown, the daughter of actors Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward, welcomed her first child with partner Scott Gooding on Wednesday.
And on Thursday, Matilda shared sweet photos of her parents meeting their baby grandson, Zan Neathway Gooding, for the first time.
In one of the pictures, Bryan looked smitten while gazing the newborn in his arms.

Matilda also shared another photo of her mother Rachel sitting on a hospital bed while holding the tiny child.
In the accompanying caption, Matilda revealed that her parents were by her side during the birth.

She wrote: 'On the night I went into labour, dad was supposed to drop mum at the hospital (mum was my doola) and then wait in the waiting room.
'But he ended up coming into the room and stayed for the entire birth.'

Matilda, 32, continued: 'When I was pushing Zan out at the end, dad was stroking my head and mum was cheering me on, crying, saying, "Come on, Til! He's so close!"
'[It was] pretty special that both my parents got to be with me through such a monumental time in my life.
Just hours after welcoming her first child, Matilda shared a photo to Instagram of herself looking radiant while baby Zan rested on her chest.

She wrote in the caption: 'Thanks to everyone for your beautiful messages. How good is [it] having a bubba to stare at?
'Zan's a pretty good sleeper. Just chills on my boob. I'm tired. But stoked.'

Matilda is known for starring alongside her father in the short film series Lessons from the Grave in 2014. She has also appeared in TV shows Rake and Offspring.
Her partner Scott Gooding, 43, launched a career as a personal trainer and chef after appearing on My Kitchen Rules in 2013.
He opened his own restaurant, The Good Place, in Sydney's Miranda last month.
