Many classes taught via videos or apps while teachers sit back and relax. Physics taught through an app? Ridiculous!. These kids waste 6 hours at school daily when they could be learning this way at home. I suppose the teachers assume we will simply pay for tutoring. Kids are overwhelmed with all of their outside activities too. It creates more pressure when they waste 6 hours per day doing nothing in the classroom and then have to make up for it outside class and do their activities . This system stresses them more…I am amazed that this is a private school and we spent so much money here. Construction non stop. No designated cafeteria. She had to stand in long lines for lunch and now doesn’t go to lunch since it takes to much time to get. They need to spend more money on teachers ACTUALLY teaching! They spend way too much money on constructing new buildings. If you love your child don’t send them here. Mitty and Bell do not prioritize buildings over education.
The best part is the opportunities I'm given here. I feel supported and I feel like I can count on people at my school to give me the help I need to get into a university I really want to attend. I found some of my best friends for life here, and there are so many interesting people that I can learn from and grow from. However, the culture is sometimes concerning with the amount of racism, ableism, and overall hate I've heard come out of people's mouths sometimes on campus. I would love to see this change because fostering a sense of community is important to the high school environment for learning and growing.
I enjoyed the community experience at saint Francis, there are some groups that are not as diverse and sometime makes me feel dismissed because of my race.
