How many U.S. Representatives does Pennsylvania have?

Pennsylvania has 17 U.S. Representatives in Washington, D.C. — nine Democrats and eight Republicans.

Each was elected, or re-elected, in November 2022 and took office in January 2023 for a two-year term in the House of Representatives, controlled by Republicans.

They are:

Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-2nd District.

Boyle, a native of Philadelphia, first took office in 2015. He is a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8th District.

Born in Erie, Cartwright has served in Congress since 2013.

Rep. Christopher Deluzio, D-17th District.

He is a first-term representative from Pittsburgh.

Rep. Madeleine Dean, D-4th District.

A former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Dean has served in Congress since 2019. She served as one of the House managers in the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump.

Rep. Dwight Evans, D-3rd District.

Evans served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1980 to 2016. He's served in the U.S. House since 2016.

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-1st District.

A former FBI special agent and U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Fitzpatrick has served in Congress since 2017. He's also a co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.

Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-6th District.

Now in her third term, Houlahan is a former engineer and business executive from Chester County.

Rep. John Joyce, R-13th District.

Joyce is a dermatologist who has represented the 13th District in southern Pennsylvania since 2019.

Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th District.

Kelly, a Pittsburgh native, has served since 2011.

Rep. Summer Lee, D-12th District.

Lee was sworn into office in January 2023 after four years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Rep. Daniel Meuser, R-9th District.

Born in Queens, New York, Meuser served as Pennsylvania's secretary of revenue before taking the oath in 2019.

Rep. Scott Perry, R-10th District.

Perry, first elected in 2012, is a York native who leads the House Freedom Caucus. He served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012.

Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-14th District.

Reschenthaler is a U.S. Navy veteran who was a lawyer and Pennsylvania magisterial judge before joining the Pennsylvania Senate in 2015. He was sworn into Congress in 2019.

Rep. Lloyd Smucker, R-11th District.

Smucker, of Lancaster County, served in the Pennsylvania Senate from 2009 to 2016. He's been in Congress since 2017.

Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-5th District.

Scanlon was a longtime attorney at the Education Law Center of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Wallingford-Swarthmore school board before filling the seat of Rep. Patrick Meehan in 2018.

Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-15th District.

He is a former chairman of the Centre County Republican Party who has served in the House since 2009.

Rep. Susan Wild, D-7th District.

Born in Germany, the former Allentown solicitor won her seat in a special election in 2018 to fill the vacancy of Rep. Charlie Dent.
