You have 3 options

You could retire him and earn 5000 xp for your Bloodline rank. A nice boost if you’re not lvl 100 already.

You could play additional games with this hunter and every xp you earn in a round goes into the Bloodline. Risky but if he survive some rounds then you probably have earned more than 5000xp but if he dies you loose the option to retire him.

Or you keep him in your roster and try to get 4 more hunter to lvl 50 and get a achievement.

If you play with that lvl 50 hunter then all exp goes straight to bloodline rank. Playing 2 or more games with it would gain more exp than if you retired the hunter now.

There is achievement of getting 5 x lvl 50 hunters in your roster at once. You can try to fill that.

You can retire the lvl 50 hunter if you want exp for bloodline rank (your account level) risk free.

All of this kinda depends on your plans what you want to achieve and do. For example we dunno if you want to prestige or go to lvl 100 and then try to fill other goals like book of monsters, weapon masteries, unlock everything and try different loadouts etc etc etc

You can still play with them but if you are trying to prestige then you might wanna retire them to rank up and get to the next level.

Retire for exp boost or play and risk loosing him, but get more exp for the main level if he survives more then 2 matches. At 100 level you reach the max and im guessing after you prestige, you lose all the bloodline progress and go again. Okey, thanks for the info

Correct but just FYI, if you prestige you also loose all your hunt dollars (down to 5k), saved gear, and hunters.

You keep your BB and any legendary skin unlocks. You will have to level up your bloodline to regain access to the weapons to purchase their corresponding skins.

so when you earn xp half of it goes to leveling up your hunter (if you extract safely) and half goes to leveling up your bloodline (rank). as you level a hunter you'll hit checkpoints that give a certain amount of bloodline xp.

if you play with a max level hunter all the xp you earn will go directly to your bloodline (since the hunter is max level, xp is no longer split), but you cant get the bloodline xp checkpoints anymore.

retired hunters are worth 5k bloodline xp at lvl 50 (1k per level) so if you don't think you can survive at least two matches on your max level hunter then its probably optimal (for xp at least) to retire.

I thought you only got half of the xp for the match you die in.
