Ladies tea to benefit Knead Café

A ladies afternoon tea will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 23 at Knead Community Café, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington.

Tickets are $35 and include a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, sweets and teas. Advance tickets only; no tickets will be sold at the door. Seating is limited. A maximum of eight people will be seated at each table.

Free car seat safety checks offered in Harrison

State Sen. Lindsey M. Williams and the Pennsylvania State Police will offer free car seat safety checks from 10 a.m. to noon May 15 by appointment at 1826 Union Ave., Natrona Heights, Harrison.

A state trooper will work with you one-on-one to help install your child’s car seat or double check that it is properly fitted in your vehicle.

TryLife Center accepting donations

The TryLife Center in Lower Burrell is accepting donations of gently-used baby items, children’s clothing in sizes newborn through 4T, maternity clothes, baby and toddler toys and children’s books.

Used cribs and car seats will not be accepted. Items will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and noon to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays the red donation door. Ring the door for assistance.

Items left outside the hours listed above will not be protected from the weather and may have to be disposed of. For details, call 724-339-9399.

Animal Protectors offers community pet pantry

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley in New Kensington has a community pet pantry that offers free pet food to those in need.

Wet and dry dog and cat food is available. Stop in from noon to 6 p.m. and ring the doorbell at the backdoor of the shelter, 730 Church St., or call 724-339-7388.

Kennywood Day will be May 29 in the district. Tickets will be sold online only at kennywood.com/Kiski.

May 20: Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department is accepting orders for a Marianna’s Hoagie and Pizza sale. Orders and payment are due Wednesday. Delivery will be May 20. Hoagies are 14 inches and varieties are Italian, ham and Swiss, turkey, All-American, roast beef, smoked ham and cheddar, traditional, three cheese and ham club.
