      Hot Seat Reviews

Overall, the last half-hour of the film deserves special mention for its tension-building, as all of the plot threads are brought together with a few surprises. Just don't have too high of expectations and enjoy this Hot Seat.

This is a suspense movie from the get-go in the tick-tock real-time panic you felt in countdown action thrillers like “Phone Booth” or “Speed.” Director James Cullen Bressack once again proves he knows how to create tension and twists no matter what genre

A ludicrous action fantasy full to bursting with lunkheaded macho banter and every cliche in the cat-and-mouse cyber-thriller handbook.

Intriguing, looks great, and has a tightly wound, exciting plot while still giving each character a moment to shine.

The script and direction by prolific low-budget film-maker James Cullen Bressack do spring a few mild surprises and minor twists to spice things up. That doesn’t quite make up for the tackiness elsewhere...

The disastrously awful Hot Seat is about a computer hacker trapped in a chair that's rigged with a bomb. Viewers of Hot Seat will feel like they're trapped watching another kind of bomb: this atrocious movie.

The problem with so many of these Randall Emmett productions is that their Ed Wood-level ineptitude isn’t even any fun to watch.

Silly and stupefying...it's easy to remain ice-cold toward HOT SEAT.

There’s a good movie somewhere in Hot Seat. But, thanks to a cheap approach and what appears to be a rushed writing process and production, it never stood a chance.

A not-bad idea for a low-budget, mostly-one-set suspense story turns into a rushed, generic movie, cutting corners and missing potential at every turn, eventually disappearing from memory.

      I don't think I bought a second of this.

It felt like it had so many elements from so many films we've seen before... There was not much that felt new or fresh to me.

Features a 1990s-style plot, 90s-style gimmicks, and a 90s-style cast. Not particularly good on its own merits, but has some virtues as a nostalgia exercise.

An inert, inane and inept mess that doesn't work on any level. It makes Liam Neeson's lastest snoozefests seem like masterpieces.

[S]creenwriters Leon Langford and Collin Watts clearly didn't think about how their premise would function as a movie.

A silly, claustrophobic thriller....Rest assured that though Dillon might necessarily be glued to his seat for the duration, the movie will give you ample incentive to get up from yours and walk away.

Instantly awful even if it never quite crosses over into hatefully bad.

Shock is not present in the payoff of the film, and "Hot Seat" is no nail-biter.
