Eric Deggans NPR "Horace And Pete" is a signal to other performers. In a digital world, they can bring the right project directly to the people with quality and immediacy. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine The series feels like a catharsis for its creator, an announcement of some yet-to-be-defined transition in Louis C.K.'s art-making. Rated: 4/4 Apr 25, 2016 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz New York Magazine/Vulture Horace and Pete was more comfortable with silence than any TV show made during my lifetime. Its style demanded that you experience drama in a way that's anathema to the values of contemporary television. Apr 6, 2016 Full Review Alan French AwardsCircuit.com It is clear that C.K. is fascinated with the idea of bending expectations and pushing the boundaries of television in the process. Rated: 4/4 Oct 10, 2018 Full Review Lili Loofbourow Los Angeles Review of Books Let me say here that I have no idea whether Horace and Pete is good or bad. Gabriele S The most brilliant and daring tv I've seen in a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Elliot L Dark, tragic comedy which makes you laugh and cry. Grips you into the world of this awful little pub. Amazing cast too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Dawn R I cant believe I'd never heard of this show before. FKN AMAZING. I just finished the episode with Laurie Metcalf and was RIVITED. Kudos and Bravo to Metcalf! O.M.G. I laughed out loud as I watched alone, barely moving for the entire show. What a brilliant showcase of talent on this show! And the pain in Louis's face when hearing about his son...SOB. So many great lines but one in particular I had to write down. Metcalf said it..."The worst part of a lie is when someone you love just accepts it. " Wow. Indeed. Shout out to Alan Alda and Steve Buscemi. I'm so glad I found this show on Hulu. Bravo! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/22 Full Review pam c I am only 3 shows in, and am totally loving it. The 3rd episode is different from the 1st 2, that has the bar full of people. The 3rd is just Laurie Metcalf, practically doing a monologue, telling ex-husband Horace (LCK) her dilemma and it was brilliant. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't know what to expect when I tuned in to the pilot and was surprised initially by the all-star cast but then the story line drew me in and I was compelled to see them all. Many aspects of this ding areas that I normally would not be drawn to - nihilism, racism, disrepectful behaviors and attitudes in general and I have to say however that gritting my teeth through some of this resulted in an overall positive experience and in retrospect I have a greater respect for Louis CK than I did before. I admit that if not reminded that these attitudes and behaviors exist, we might get complacent about them. I would not re-visit this but I am glad I did. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an extraordinary production. It is dark, beautiful and true. I feel lucky to have found it. We should have more like this. Amazing on every level and deserving of every award out there. If you did not like this new American classic, your life has been too easy or you are under thirteen.
