What travellers are saying
- Marie C16 contributionsFun experience for me and my family because alligators are not animals we get to see in our country. We learned a lot of facts about them. The shows and airboat tour were nice but a bit short. The staff were incredible though!Written September 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Guide407503109929 contributionsWe paid for the tasting tour (3pm) - $25/ pp and it was well worth the time and price.
Our guide David was awesome! He took us on a tram ride around the park, gave a commentary on the different trees, plants, spices and fruit that are grown there. He was very knowledgeable and and personable.
Many trees there that you would not get to see unless you travelled to Africa or Asia.
My husband was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
We would highly recommend.
Very close to Coral Castle.Written March 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - vhash77North Wilkesboro, NC1,062 contributionsMy husband and I learned about this castle via a bus tour advertisement in our local senior center. We chose to make the trip ourselves verses traveling on a bus.
This castle has an interesting history behind it. When we arrived shortly after 9am - we were told to meet with the tour guide - he advsied we could either wander around for a while - waiting for the next guest - or we could sit and begin watching the first part of the tour - which is a 3 video - loop presentation - a lot of the video presentation is repetative - so by the time you are taken into the "castle" area and your guide begins his presentation -you've already heard the information at minimum 3 times.
It is unique to see the tools the builder used - whom you are told was only 5 foot tall, a mere 100 pounds and did not allow anyone to help him build - nor did anyone see him build these creations. You can only gaze at the tools from a distance as they are gated in. The builders living quarters is also blocked off - it's a small tower with steps - so visitors cannot see that either.
The story goes that the builder was broken hearted from a relationship that ended and thus built everything based on the number 16 which was the age of his former girlfriend. It's also told the song Sixteen by BIlly Idol is based on the history of this castle and that a video recording was made at this location as well.
The architecture is amazing. The onle 2 items which still actually work in the castle now are the sundial and the polaris telescope. The rockng chairs, the turning entrances etc are no longer operatable.
Please make a note that this is a historic place - with that said - no videos are allowed - I learned that from someone who was not our tour guide who thought I was making a video of the Florida shaped table - when all I was doing was taking a photo using my selfie stick to get height above the table--- also note - do not walk away from your tour guide/group - the same lady was quick to inform my husband and I that we were not allowed inside the castle area without our tour guide - I had stepped back inside to take a few more photos before we left the grounds as that our tour had ended at the "quarry" where the builder got his coral - we were "politely" ushered out of the "castle".
Also note -the website states you can utilize audio stands to tour the castle - there are none - it also states that the chairs are rocking chairs - they no longer move - nor does the gate as stated on their website - and ironicly you can rent the castle for weddings, receptions and birthdays, which seems odd considering it's a historic site and one cannot touch or be in the area without a tour guide - maybe the website needs a little updating with clarification of the do's and don'ts of the castle.
Still even with the"hiccups' of the end of our experience gave this a 4 star review for I believe it's worth seeing the creativity of the individual who built it.
The cost when we visited was $18 per person, 7% tax and a 3% price adjustment.Written February 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have a great admiration for Chris and his work in conservation and public education about alligators and more. It was truly an honor to meet him and swim with Casper after watching so many of their videos together. The encounter began with an educational talk and some safety guidelines, and then it was time to go into the water. I opted not to wear my wetsuit. The water was chilly at first but after a few minutes I didn't even notice due to being so wrapped up in the experience. Also I appreciated the option to use a weight belt as I am quite buoyant and the weights helped me drop down for better photos.
After the encounter I was able to explore the rest of the park and see the other animals. It really is a beautiful place with lots of shady trees and tropical plants. I met a delightful volunteer named Denise who told me a lot about the animals and also had a nice chat with the young man (Robio?) at the counter where I bought a shirt.Written March 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The 3 grapes wines, two of Malbec and one Cabernet Sauvignon were very young but showed long term promise.Written April 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Abel RMiami, FL587 contributionsThese cold evenings call for something comforting, and this cinnamon roll pecan from Knaus Berry Farm happens to be the answer. Their cinnamon rolls are out of this world. This place gets super packed. Expect long lines when ordering over the weekend. This establishment does not accept credit cards. So bring cash.Written January 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Hunterjumpergirl357Plainville, CT81 contributionsWe went to this boat launch due to watching this area on u -tube. It was a very clean park, across the water is where the park was it was nice to take the trails out, wish I had a bicycle. - Barbara G65 contributionsThe worship is awesome. The venue is beautiful, but geared to the younger set. The music is loud and powerful. So you may need to ask for earplugs. But the worship is genuine. The minister teaches straight out of the Bible. He is passionate about leading others to the redeeming value of Christ. The members are welcoming and pleasant. There is a coffee bar in the lobby, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere.Written December 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CharlieHudsonHomestead, FL61 contributionsHomestead Bayfront Park is located next to Biscayne National Park. It has a small "Atoll Pool" which is a small beach and swimming area of Biscayne Bay. It is a favorite boat ramp and has a full marina as well as an on-site restaurant. There are picnic tables and plenty of room to run around for children.Written October 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
