Spot your favorite Hollywood stars among more than 2,700 plaques lining the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Take an obligatory photo with the five-pointed brass stars, honouring accomplished personalities of the entertainment industry. Along the way, check out the handprints, footprints, and autographs of about 200 stars immortalized in the sidewalk of the historic TCL Chinese Theatre. While you can’t bring any of them home, you can pick up a souvenir at the countless gift shops lining the boulevard.     Many stars from years past
    We stayed right on the walk at the Hollywood Roosevelt and got to spend a lot of time looking at the stars. They even have people who set up a star with your name hand you an Oscar and take pictures for fun. I was rather disappointed that so many stars were left dirty. I couldn’t believe that more pride in keeping the sidewalk clean didn’t happen. A crowded venue.

    disappointment and not as inthe movies
    so many stalls covering so many of the stars. smell of urine all along the road. sad to see so many homeless persons too. huge snakes on show too for photographs also distressing to see... over rated and certainly not as seen in the movies !! tidy the area up...

    Add to the LA bucket list
    You cannot miss it especially if you are staying in Hollywood. And also a must-see if you are in LA for the 1st time. Sure some of the sidewalks smell like piss and some of the blocks not so pleasant. But lots going on for a few blocks to keep your senses enhanced. The food vendors have nowhere to wash their hands it seems and with all those passerbys brushing past the food stalls..no thx. If you're looking for a specific star, you can see a map on their website. There was a bit about the history of it as well.

    Walk of Fame , Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, United States of America.
    Imprinted names of celebrities on the golden star plate which they embedded to the platform of Hollywood Boulevard. Be ware of those street cosplayer. They will let you take photo of themselves and later ask the fees from you unless you want to pay. Lots of museums and entertainments in this area.

    A must see but it might disappoint
    The stars are a must see if you visit Hollywood but remember it is in the middle of a city. Depending on the time of day you might get huge crowds who are walking down the street making it impossible to casually look at them. You also have to deal with the street vendors, tour operators, etc.

    Found the nice bit..
    We walked the whole length of Walk of fame. It was interesting to see the stars but I was expecting them to be in a nice area. It’s grotty, seedy and unpleasant for most of it. Lots of vape shops and street sellers - it was rough. But then we got to the centre, with Dolby (Oscars) theatre and the Hard Rock Cafe and it was nice around there so I recommend going to this block and not venturing too far beyond it. Hard Rick cafe was great 👍

    Hard to put into words. But I gave it a go
    Being from the East End of London, the Walk of Fame, served me with nostalgic aesthetics and aromas, I know only too well. The poignant smell of urine, brought back happy childhood flashbacks of walking through Barking high street as a teenager. Hurdling over the grit, grime and garbage on the floors, took me back to my energetic walks to my old office in Shoreditch. If you’re feeling down and want to be appreciative of life, head down to the Walk of Fame. It will give you a new perspective on what it is to be grateful, and appreciative that you don’t live there. In all, 10/10 experience. Would strongly recommend for corporate companies as a team building exercise, or new parents, as a way to teach young children about engaging the five senses. Small improvement suggestion, would be less crackheads.

    Yes, It's Crazy
    We had a chance to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame during our recent visit to LA. Yes, it is crazy. Also kind of interesting. Like us, you'll probably want to look around and then get out of there. Grauman's Chinese Theatre has some interesting signatures.

    A bit run down
    Stopped with my 17 year old daughter around 10am on New Year’s Eve. We parked in the corner of Wilcox and Hollywood. Lots of homeless and trash in the area. Maybe a different part is much better. We hoped out took a few photos and went into a gift shop close to Wilcox and headed out. Didn’t feel safe at all for being daylight. No other tourists just homeless wandering.

    It wasn't as good as I expected but it was good to visit to satisfy the childhood dream of mine
    It was a dream come true to visit this place, but because of the negligence from the maintenance community, it's not in good shape. Beware of the cosplayers who may charge you money for taking a photo with them. The area could use a bit of cleaning up as some of the stars were covered in dirt. The area also has stalls which cover most of the stars. Daytime can get crowded because of other tourists visiting this place.

Beware of soliciting

I was minding my business and looking for the star of certain celebrities. Then I was stopped by a person who literally handed me his CD and said he was an upcoming artist and signed the envelope to my name. I thought he was promoting his music and asking me to check it out, but it turned out that he expected to get monetary support. He said he usually gets $20 usd. I was coerced into giving $10 usd for his CD. Then his friend came at me and shoved his CD into my hand, and said I supported his first friend so I needed to support him too. He wouldn’t take back his CD and once again I was coerced into giving $10 usd. A third friend of theirs came towards me and I quickly walked away before he came close enough to shove a CD at me. Beware of soliciting! Do not stop walking. Do not make eye contact. Do not give money.

Not what you expect

The Walk of Fame is over a number of blocks in Hollywood. The streets are quite dirty. I really enjoyed looking at the stars hand prints, quotes and dates close to The Theatre. Closer to Madam Tussauds, Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre, it was difficult to see or even take pictures of some stars because of the crowds of people walking around there. It was however exciting to come across the names of stars you like.

Nice to See, Too Much Soliciting

Came here while at a conference to see the walk of fame. While it was nice to see, the amount of soliciting put a huge damper on the experience. People in costumes that look like they have never been washed (spider-man, mickey mouse, etc.) trying to get you to take a photo with them so they can then make you give them money for the photo. Others trying to force their CD into your (music comedy, etc.), to then expect you to pay them for it. Personal space in non-existent in this area and I felt the need to sanitize my hands constantly. Wish it had been a better experience, but I will definitely not be going back.

A tourist trap which could be improved with some modernizaion/investment

If you are new to Hollywood and want to see a tourist trap, this is the place to be. I walked the whole length of the Walk of Fame with my family, and we witnessed a run down location that is in serious need of gentrificaion. It needs to be reimaged from the ground up by the town council and soon. The walk itself is overcrowded with tourists. The stars are wearing down and some have cracks going through them. While they have put some stars at the far reaches of the walk (a lot of older ones) many are blank. Near the center of the activity where it is overcrowded there are more recent stars placed nearly on top of each other.

The Chinese theatre is interesting and some of the signatures in the cement are fascinating of casts of the 1960s (for example, the original Star Trek actors many of which now have passed away). A few minutes at this location is all you need but is worth the effort.

The biggest problem now is the number of vagrants we saw on the walk. There is no way around it, this place is getting seedy and at night I would be concerned being out in this area. We thought about going into a wax museum (there are two) but decided against it as the cost for four would be well over $100 which seemed to be a lot considering the condition of the buildings.

Is it worth the time? Probably but only during the daytime. We had more fun on the WB studio tour we went on which actually taught us about its history than this walk did. The mall at the end of the stars is actually half vacant but there are some good stores in there but we were there to eat Ben and Jerry's and the California Pizza Kitchen.

Walking down Hollywood Boulevard

Walking down Hollywood Boulevard Can be pretty crazy. You do have to be careful because there are some homeless people that unfortunately are high on drugs or have a mental challenges so beware. But it still is a lot of fun to put your hands in the hand prints of the famous stars at the Chinese theater. Try to take a show in at the Pantages it’s a beautiful place to go inside to see a play. The wax museum is a lot of fun and so is the Guinness book of records museum. It’s fun to walk down and see all of the stars on the sidewalks.

It's hollywood mates. The hall of fame. It's a round long walk where you can all the Top icons Fame comprises more than 2,690 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood.

Muhammad Ali was given a star when it was determined that boxing was indeed a form of live performance
The handsome terrazzo-and-brass stars are one to witness. You can meet all the super stars and characters, they charge for tips. Wonderful experience if you are in Los Angeles. Don't forger the dance music which takes place every hour.

It’s a nice in a lifetime experience to stroll down the sidewalk looking at the Stars. You do kind of have to brace yourself for “look-a-like” Power Girl, Batman and other character actors who eke out a living getting photos made with tourists. Of course I didn’t mind a bit coughing up 5bucks to have a snap of me cuddling up wit Poer Girl. lol

Nit what we had imagined

I know what you might be thinking; old Hollywood, the glamor, seeing the stars on the sidewalk like voices of the past reminding you fondly of days gone by. this was a medical trip and we had limited resources and time so we just picked out a few things we thought would be memorable to do with my granddaughters. if my opening sentence is at all what you are thinking, you can forget those ideas. Parking will cost you $15-$ 30. There were many drug addicts and homeless. It was hard to find a public restroom. When you get down to the original theater with the original cement hand prints, you need to pay to see it. This review isn't directed to everyone; it is directed to people who have and who care what their children are exposed to. It is pretty sketchy.

This is a must do :)
A lot of walking so bring good confortable shoes. Lots of live music everywhere. Lots of churros, hot dogs and tacos for sell, highly recommend to bring cash for food. Parking was a lot of trouble. Took us approximately 30 minutes to find parking. There’s a good amount of souvenir stores all around the walk as well.

1st Walk of Fame

It was exciting to walk along side these stars of my favorite actors/actresses. The street is very clean and neat and the stars are well maintained. The street vendors get in your face and try to force merchandise into your hand on in your shopping bag when you're not looking. I would keep an eye on younger children as they will likely take something a vendor would pass to them. Other than the vendors, it was an excellent experience.
