“My wife Nat has stood by me through thick and thin. She knew me long before fame and fortune, and has had the insight to see beyond my failings. However, by the beginning of 2015, our marriage was in tatters. I could no longer be trusted and was spending most of my time on the run. When I resolved to try and get well, she agreed to meet and so began the long process of winning back her trust. “Hold On to Our Love” is a pleading love letter about trying to get honest. My behaviour had been traumatising for her and I knew that the only way to save our marriage was to allow both of us to express our feelings openly. It remains a work in progress. I realised that if we could survive this crisis then it would make us stronger. I feel that this song encapsulates the idea that if we can conquer this challenge then we can face whatever the world throws at us. We wanted the music to reflect that sense of going from somewhere lost and lonely to a rousing redemptive place of resolution.” – [x]
